    It would be nice to edit the title in order to give a better idea of what this thread is all about to the rest of the members and for others with same issues to find this thread. "Stable version" dos not tell anyone else but you anything. Something like What is the most stable version of Ableton Live 10 will also help you in getting more responses. The one mentioned by @Gyro Gearloose works fine. Have you done a total uninstalled, clean up and reinstall of version 10.1.9? Some info about your OS and Live release is helpful. Is it P2P? Are you on Windows? Are you on Windows 10?

    Chipset Drivers for your MoBo.
    Only use the ones that are provided by your MoBo Manufacturer.

    Totally uninstall your driver.
    Also uninstall all C++ Then
    Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One
    You can download from techpowerup
    Here comes the trick...
    When you have uninstalled ALL Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes,
    Do a reboot and install that one.
    There is a tool called "Wise Registry Cleaner"
    Run that before you install the one from techpowerup.
    Then install it.
    After that, reboot, and do a windows update.

    You need to uninstall every one seperatly when it is in your software list.
    Then run the .bat with administrator rights, so rightcklick and select : Run as Administrator.

    After that, install the propper drivers from your mobo website.
    the latest.
    Do not forget to also update your bios when there is one on that website.
    The rule is : First update software drivers before BIOS update.

    If you got Nvidia Drivers go for the latest @ guru3d.com (stripped ones are good for games)
    If you got AMD, go with the package from AMD.
    If you are doing video editing, go for the official Studio Drivers @ Nvidia website.

    alright so ive done everything you said

    ableton works fine but when i try a heavy guitar preset in BIAS FX or a heavy synth or just loud volume i get audio spikes
    is that normal?

    The CPU meter is on 70% only when playing chords with 1 channel and 3 plugins

    in fact, you need to update your computer.
    yes, the old version of the program is less demanding on hardware
