    I know they do good interfaces generally, but are the drivers really so quick and rock solid?

    I'm an owner of an Audient Id22 now, and had just one problem with the set of sample rate on win 10, it changed automatically but when I set this on reaper configuration like a ''global'' sample rate it stays there and was solved. Maybe you'd like the ID44 with 2 headphone outputs, pristine high end conversion and top preamps.

    From my experience over the last ten years I had a RME Fireface 400, a Babyface, then a Steinberg ur44, and now a Babyface Pro FS.

    Without entering into details the RMEs are better sounding overall with a very flexible routing if you need it but...

    The Steinberg UR44 is the most stable and reliable audio interface I ever had. The latency is average but it's a very good sounding interface and a very very good quality/price ratio.

    All my RMEs used to have some hassles sometimes when switching from a clock frequency to another (from projects to projects or from projects to multimedia) and the Babyface Pro FS doesn't derogate from the rule.

    Having said that, I absolutly love my BFprofs and won't go back ! Who can afford an AXR4 ?

    (I'm on windows and use different DAWs but Cubase 90% of the time.)

    My Babyface is silver and bulletproof, it has run for 8 years without issue. You can kill werewolves with it if you so wish.

    I've been using an Audient iD14 with the ASP880 and the drivers have been rock solid for the past year or so. They had problems at first, but got it fixed pretty fast. I haven't had any issues running high track counts, tons of plugins, or recording live with low latency. (And I'm using a moderately old CPU i7-4770K). Great bank for the buck!

    Hey, could you give some advice about what converters sound better than RME? Thanks!

    Antalope, Lynx, Burl Audio, Crane Song, Ferrofish, Universal Audio interfaces...or spend big bucks on RME's ADI-2 or the 8

    Spending good cash on conversion only brings incrimental returns, so unless you have either a waterfall of cash don't worry too much about it. The driver is super important as well as clocking and most every company making stuff today is pretty dang good.

    Grab drivers over here https://github.com/dechamps/FlexASIO/releases
    C:\Users\Your Name\FlexASIO.toml

    Place the following configuration in the FlexASIO.toml file

    backend = "Windows WASAPI"
    bufferSizeSamples = 256

    [input]
    suggestedLatencySeconds = 0.0
    wasapiExclusiveMode = true

    [output]
    suggestedLatencySeconds = 0.0
    wasapiExclusiveMode = true

    Get rid of the bold old labeled input device if you want better latency.

    Thank me later. Better yet, thank the author by donating him.

    If you write any manufacturers name next to "RME", people are gonna rate your post like crazy because they're that good.

    Hell you can literally write RME on any forum and you'll get so much likes and hearts you'll break the internet more than the Kardashians did.

    are you asking me? If so you need a motherboard with either native thunderbolt or a motherboard with a thunderbolt header. A well tested motherboard for music production that has native thunderbolt is:
    Gigabyte Z390 Designare + Presonus Quantum 2626

    In addition to this I recommend:
    i9 9900k
    Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler

    RME. Never a problem. Have been using in Win8 and now in Win10.

    Moto's drivers are really bad, had an interface returned because cpu laod was 80% instead of 50% on the same buffer settings.
    Esi is ok, but actually not really good.
    I was surprised about behringer, lately they got way better over the years, I consider them good now (were crappy 8 years ago)
    Steinberg has very decent drivers.
    But RME is above all.
    I don't buy focusrite anymore, the fucked me badly over the years
    and same with m-audio, they were my favorite low-budget brand before avid bought the company.
    (and before that the drivers were fine)
