I have some vouchers for buying some Plugin Alliance plugins. Which plugins are a must have in 2020?
I would like to read your recommendations. EQS, Compressors, everything allowed.

None are "must have" or particularly special. The Console E is a nice channel-strip, if the interface doesn't turn you off, and the subfilter can be useful if you're into that kind of thing.

idk cuz, I'm a hardcore fan of the sister site and I pay my subscription for P.A. Every month..
My Mentor had never tried P.A. Before now hes hooked.
There's so many I keep finding new goodies 6 months later.
I hate to say it... Charge it to the game holmez, Get um all.

I share mine with the Studio and a friend.

What I really love though is everyone I see using the PA stuff uses different stuff.
They have something for everyone.

 

What's the difference between Shadow Hills standard and class A?

 

I got bx_Focusrite Console plugin for free because I own Focusrite ISA hardware. And I absolutely love the sound of it!
(thanks to Focusrite for providing this lovely plugin to its' loyal customers)

Another one is BAX Mastering EQ. Pure magic on this one.

Check your email, I had the same issue and they reissued vouchers for everyone since many people had the same problem.
I wrote them an email to describe the problem before they reissued one but I don't think it's necessary

 

Class A is modelled after the shadowhills with red lights that has two class A transformers. In audio that means it has more punch, due to the better discreet compressor, the opto compressor stays the same. Also PA added the bottom panel with the TDM channels, headroom, width and mono. Parallel processing is available in both PA plugins. I would suggest to get the red instead of the green, not both.

 

I would suggest you to get the underrated diode bridge compressor Lindell 345 or 245
SPLIron or ShadowHills Red
Lindel 80 series
and either the SSL 4000 G or the console N

I bought the Lindel 7X-500 very cheap when PA still handled discounts differently and I've gotta say it's not a great 1176 clone. All Lindell Plugins are coded by LSR Audio and lack the sound quality of those coded by brainworx, imo.

Thank you for the explanation. Looks like if I wanna get Shadow Hills, it should be class A, then. I'll look into it more and then make up my mind.

 

The difference in sound is small between Green and Red, but for me it was worthy. Download the trial, it runs for 30 days. Also try SPL Iron...

Not going to defend that plugin, I think I was also not impressed by it aswell. But the 245, 345 and 80 series really stand out.
The 345 is a multiband version, so to speak of the 245. These are diode bridge compressors, and are known to add a nice weight, color and fatness to the material. While in the analog world those compressors may be too much, for a digital track, they work pretty good. The fat sound is what you will usually find in a good house and techno track.
As for the 80 series, it is like if you used a maag EQ band couple with a neve console it makes the vocal present and alive and it is fast to setup.
Experiment with them! maybe you will like them.
