Interstingly Spotify seems not to lower a track no matter the loudness, atm.
I just yesterday compared a track from Metallica's black album (1991) to one of My Chemical Romance from 2009. Although their TP differed only by 0,4dB, MCR's track was 7LUFS louder with a bunch of the track hitting highest level.

I find this quit annoying about Spotify, one song playing louder than the other.

Spotify does no loudness normaliztion by default. You have to enable it in the settings of he app. I don't know if the web player has the feature, though.

spotify has a normalization function, the point of my clickbaity title was that they use replay gain instead of LUFS, interestingly they tell us musicians to use LUFS as a reference nonetheless because they think we are stupid basically :)

Actually, when the normalization is not set by default, that is still a problem ... Because not everyone knows ... Even all my friends don't care and don't know the way ... :dunno:

I just confirmed it to my friends who use Spotify, they even just found out and they don't know how and for what :dunno:... And I have to explain to them which is a waste of time ...

Logically, why use normalization but we listen to songs that are not normalized by default?
Why don't they just normalize the Spotify player without pressing a button and configuration?
Or why not just normalize all the tracks that come into Spotify directly? One time work and more efficient right? all fair and not jumping by loudness when hearing ... :trashing:

Can you tell me how to do it on Android? Maybe with a screenshot?
So I more understand what do you mean ...
I use free Spotify on web and not found that configuration ... :blues:

Explained, but not solve the problem ... If you know what I mean ... :winker:
But it's okay, Now I know what number I should enter ... :winker:

As @5teezo correctly stated, Spotify only applies the loudness algorithm when the advanced setting "Set the same volume level for all songs" is selected.
