I'm going to buy a second monitor for a dual config. I have to take a decision about it's size, better a 24" or 27" for audio editing and mixing? (normally this is an obvious answer, but I think that a 27" solution could be too wide for having a good vision...or am I wrong?)
I decided about an IPS panel, any suggestion about a good one (acer, asus, hp benq...)? My budget is: no more than 200 dollars
    Thanks in advance

24" is better with 2 monitors, i run 2 24" and its enough, if you wanna go bigger then ur better off buying a big curved wide screen

I would suggest a 4K monitor... I had two 23" monitors and that was so wide I had neckpain all the time. It is almost like watching a tennis game from the side...
Also some DAWs don't expand to the second screen correctly...

I have the Samsung U28E590DS monitor.
Instead of IPS it has a TN display, but the screen quality is very good!
And it isn't very expensive either (€ 240,-)

4K because it is the same as 4 Full HD screens in one.... Thus 4 times the "space" you would normally have...

I agree with preferring one 4K monitor over a dual monitor config.
Make sure you check the viewing angle capabilities first, the closer you sit to the monitor, the more important it is.

I´ve just got me two 24" Samsung syncmaster BX2240 second hand mint condition for about us 75 and it works great.

I´ll personal keep from a solution with only one monitor because I like things separated like daw/editor on one monitor and plugs and stuff on the other, but that´s prolly just me ;-)

    Good luck :like:

Depends on your monitor speaker position. Two big monitors could interfere with the equilateral triangle position, really depends where you sit and how your studio is set up.

Ive tried 2x 27" for a long time.
Fun fact, its more comfortable of only having 1 27" than 2 27", so if you really wanna have 2 monitors, go for smaller than 27"

Seems to be a "little bit" out of my budget......my wife will kill me :(
Could you send me a screenshot about "4 Full HD screens in one.... Thus 4 times the "space" you would normally have..."
My forced dual monitor position is one (secondary) over the other (main). Currently the main one is also used also for graphics (connected and working for another PC)
The secondary is an old LG TV monitor, really a bad hardware tool.....

Just check the reviews to make sure it does *not* use PWM, Flicker-free = no PWM
    PWM is bad https://www.notebookcheck.net/Why-Pulse-Width-Modulation-PWM-is-such-a-headache.270240.0.html

    Some good review sites:

The Acer EB275U bmiiiprx 27.0" 2560x1440 75 Hz Monitor seems to fit the bill

Definitely 27`. My suggestion is an ASUS Designo MX279HS Monitor. Beautiful colors, slick and elegant design. I have one of these and I am really happy with it. U$185 on Amazon. Look no further...

There is absolutely no reason to get a 4k monitor, unless you are editing images or video professionally. You also need a proper video card to run 4K monitors, which they forgot to mention by the way...

You are going to have a monitor for years to come...50 extra bucks is nothing over the years... Ask Gramma for shipping (money)... Good luck my friend!

2x27" (2560x1440) here. I have these set up on a dual VESA mount vertically. The upper one is basically a glorified mixer overview + Facebook/YouTube viewing screen, but it works beautifully as one. Key is having one as your main monitor and having it set up straight (so your neck doesn't hurt by being half of the day tilted left and another half tilted right). Having the second one upwards also makes it a bit easier to focus on two at a time. And if you need to check your levels you just raise your head a little bit.

If its affordable, getting whatever is the equivalent in these new higher rez displays to the 1920x1200 ratio (16:10) gives you much better real estate.
I have 2 Dell u2415's though because I do photography. Unfortunately that wider in height ratio might be harder to find in a budget display because the manufacturers all cater to the general consumer watching movies & tv in 16:9

Great machine indeed, unfortunately here it costs more and not Ama prime... what do you think about this one?
    https://www.amazon.it/dp/B073Q2Q7MD...c=1&coliid=I1RLJAWDUFN5AC&colid=1O6GU1UPRPU0J
or (I think that a 24" is the best solution, not only for a price matter)
    https://www.amazon.it/dp/B07281PZWK...oliid=I1RLJAWDUFN5AC&colid=1O6GU1UPRPU0J&th=1
even if this one ha only one HDMI input

    maybe these two

They are not flicker free, but both freesync ready.....the second one seems better, even if I don't know if my card will support it

I'm saving up to get this:

    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.HT2AA.003

Then I plan on setting on the desk just below my 32" Samsung curved, sort of like this:

My understanding is that Sonar already supports multi-touch, so I shouldn't need D-Touch or anything like that. I tried mounting a monitor above the existing monitor when I had 2 27" monitors, and it really bothered my neck. It just wasn't a good workflow for me.
Side by side wont work as the 32" is just barely within my listening triangle already.
I have tried using an Android tablet in a similar setup using Touchdaw, and really liked it. I'm hoping the actual touch monitor will be even more responsive. Also interested to try plugin adjustment with touch versus mouse.

I can only speak for what I have. Apparently, ASUS models have the same display screen, varying on the finish and features.
The other two ASUS options are also fine!!!

I strongly suggest that you see a (similar) monitor side by side, to be sure about the size...
If you are non US or EU citizen, you can ask a friend who is traveling to bring you one. Buy and let it be delivered to the hotel where he is staying. It`s sometimes cheaper than in your country...
