Hey, im looking for a 1/4" to dual 3.5mm (1/8"). Amazon doesnt have too many, and im looking for a high quality cable. Anyone know where i can grab one? I wasnt sure what sub forum to post this too so you can move it if needed! Thanks guys

 

Build it on REDCO. Any of their cable options are good. I would choose MOGAMI, CANARE or GOTHAM. Start out with the "Y" cable option.

the first thing to look is the usage you want to have with it. mic, line, hp?
with a solder iron and decent connectors you can make it yourself.

 

these cables are hard to find, look up a company called Lyx, they make exotic cables and they are very good quality.

All cables are not the same. But most cables are plenty good enough and many others are designed to part gullible people from their money.

these are not difficult to find. I use the Roland Interconnect for this. They are reasonable price and quality. It is usually for a TS 1/4 mono output drum machine or synth to a modular's stereo 1/8 pair in.

 

I can say for sure they sound different.
With the same type of connector, even high-end cables sound MUCH different.
A lot has been said about the "skin" effect, but more significant in sound is the texture of the outer skin.
Braided nylon sound a lot different than natural rubber,etc.
They all vary in speed as well.
I know this from personal experience, but anyone can test it.
When your wife is slinging different brands of XLR cables at your head, you learn all this, or pay the price.

 

If you want the best, get Vovox. If you want good enough, go Redco. If don't like high frequencies or low end or clarity, get Hosa.

 

Get one from the brand Humphrey.

 

I have mostly all Vovox cables which I bought used over time for pennies on the dollar. They are fairly indestructible and my grandchildren's grandchildren will use them to make beautiful music on Mars.
