I come from an era when anything that made sound, other than a guitar, was considered good. But then again even the lamest hardware synth could produce something "legit".
But here we are now and the worse vst must be 4 Seasons. The creator should be proud to have made the most terrible synth ever lol.

@taskforce Found so many awesome things there, though.

@Gyro Gearloose I love to jam then resample/slice my sessions. Aside from Ableton, Kontakt, TAL-Sampler and Shortcircuit 2 I've found TX16Wx very useful. Especially for slicing my loops.

FXpansion Tremor is good too, for easily creating polymetric rhythms.

Also, REAPER, which isn't a plugin but definitely the most bad-ass thing I've seen in a while.
Did I miss the whole point of this thread? Did you mean bad as in bad or bad as in bad-ass..?

It's not you who made that synth, is it bro ? :hahaha:
Jus' kidding of course. I honestly admire your patience mate. Very zen imho. I'm pretty certain you are the creative type so i bet even if you were tossed a single osc,a filter and a adsr envelope you'd made something out of it. Still, being resourceful and creative doesn't make 4 Seasons any better because imagine what you'd do (because you already are doing so) with a synth like Reaktor etc.
Comparing free vstis, 4 seasons to something like Dexed (which essentially is a superb usable free DX7) is night and day really both in sound and usability.

    Cheers:)

@taskforce Dexed is awesome. Even more so if you have a DX7 because it works as a virtual editor for the actual hardware. Plus, it just sounds good.
And, no. I didn't make that synth.

    Stay alive, brother.

OP, some clarification is needed here. There seems to be some confusion with this thread. A couple of members are thinking that "baddest" is worst. On the other hand, there are those like myself that think that the OP meant "the best." If we are talking about the best, for me it has to be Melodyne. It is one of the very few plugins that I cant live without. It is one f those plugins that does what no other does. Simply put, irreplaceable.
If we are talking about the worst, it has to be the Antares Mic Modeler.

I think he actually meant worst. Considering he's German I don't think he's aware that "baddest" actually means "the most badass".

I honestly enjoy making "bad" (terrible) plugins do something musical. Ish. Even the default horrible sound is fun to jam w/ on Omnisphere etcs. Well, not that much fun. But I wouldn't use Tone2 synths, so that I guess?

total of 900 plugins in my collection and i have to pick 1 ?

it would be...hmmmm....this plugin Kaleidoscope ,sorry

i used it for 5 mins after install then it went to the archive
and that was couple years ago ,i guess maybe because it act as reasonater/sound design plugin

it could be good for others if they have alot of time creating sounds out of it
but i personally dont have time to design sounds

I'm gonna say the worse I've actually bought: Audio Assault Grind Machine. An amp-simulator that is cheap to buy and sounds 100x times cheaper... not even I have the stomach to use it...

Hehe, I know you are not german, but I also sometimes use the comparative in a way we germans would do! "goodest", "baddest". But the english language is sometimes strange...they say "easiest" etc. instead of "most easy". Very irritating sometimes.
BTW...you should correct the threads title. :)

I didn't even know baddest was a word, even if only slang. Well, that made me understand Gyro's meaning along with the second post.

So it seems is a kind of "bad-ass-est" contraction, meaning actually the best. Urban dictionary words, not mine.

Edited: @pizzafresser said it already, I missed it.

This isn't even a stock included plugin. $99. It looked dated and sounded terrible even in 2009.
Its not a rompler technically but you can't actually edit any meaningful parameters or create your sounds. Microtransaction based sound design is a special new kind of cancer. They're quiet about whats under the hood so its safe to assume its just their other synths with a different front panel.
Possibly the worst sounding stock implementation of a multiband compressor/limiter concept. As a loudness maximizer it does what it says and gives your audio a "plastic" quality.
Warping... As an fx insert... basic modern feature that isn't even available to all users unless you've invested into the largest complete version.
    The sound of 2006.
Actually if you bought the Producer Edition the only real synth you get is Sytrus. You could make the case for GMS I guess but you could listen to the demos and make your own judgement. You actually get even less today since many of the legacy plugins are 32 bit only. For example the old soundfont player was never ported to 64 bit but the ability to load sf2 or sfz files is now gated behind behind another $100+ investment through directwave. Fruity LSD is 32 bit only so opening midi becomes a chore since you have to then load a separate plugin for each instrument track and then pick out the proper preset just to preview a midi file. Legacy features and support shouldn't be thrown aside since there are many long time users at this stages in FL's lifecycle.
I should have written this out in FL's notebook plugin, of which there are 3.
