Scaling is what sometimes does not help.
For gaming is really great and watching movies or video, But you do music and you need vst and not all support scale. My best advice is to buy a 5 star monitor for music not for gaming.
    Gaming is different from music.

Yeah, i hesitated before posting for that very reason. I did anyways 'cos seeing a real-world multi-monitor/DAW setup might be indicative of the pitfalls of obsession for others. Besides, "When you got it, baby, flaunt it, FLAUNT IT!"...

FYI I resisted going wider for the very reasons @tzzsmk and @5teezo suggest i.e. nearfield monitors end up too far apart if you're working up close. As for the benefits of a curved screen? On a 49" ultrawide it'd probably come into its' own. However, on my 38" screen although sometimes i think it's a grand idea, most of the time it seems to me little more than another practically pointless tech gimmick.

If you've enough room it certainly would be far more cost-effective to go for a high quality, non-reflective 43-50" 4k/5k monitor & a very wide/deep desk - or snow-blindness will surely follow!

Hmm, it's a bit too 70's for me... it might match my teeth, but I wanted something to match my eyes. :grooves:

thanks to all for your input, i'm definitely convinced and will be getting the Samsung C49RG 49" , despite of some little cons, this video is definitely convincing:

I can confirm having 100+ Hz refresh rate screen with low input lag actually is beneficial for workflow - it's very difficult to explain, but for me, I can work on audio more accurate - be it just regular navigation in tracks or folders, but also higher refresh rate track meters or plugin GUIs (only some, most of them are still limited to 60fps) it's definitely worth it

one last "con" of the choice you lean towards to - 5120x1440 still feels less practical than 3840x1600 to me, so maybe also check those options on the market - since I use 3440x1440 I really don't feel the need for wider screen, in relation to screen width, so really do think up if you want so ultra wide workspace really

It depends where it is located...mine is in view, so YES, definitely, that's a good point for me,not the most one but a good one...as we all said, each will find the suit for its own environment...
As funny as it is, yes, it is important...in my case!

will do! i already started studying the monitor's manual and thinking & trying to figure out how i will get it set up and where i'm gonna place that samsung 49", my home studio desk has a very limited space-room and i have that pair of NS10M... looks like i will have to put it somehow on the top of them etc.. , will probably get some additional desk stand etc duh :deep_facepalm:

the thing is that i want to keep my Eizo 32" too and .. maybe hang it on the top of the samsung 49" to still have some sort of dual monitor setup very similar to the one the dude is showing in that 49" review video from above i have posted.

I think an Ultrawide is a great choice for music production and creativity in general. Go for it!
My dimensions are about 13ft by 10ft and I just have a plain 6ft by 3ft dining table, my monitor stands are placed sideways.
In my case the ideal size is a 34-38 inch screen with a 1440p resolution or higher. I went with an LG 3440x1440 and it's great for my listening position. The 38 inch version would also be perfectly fine. A 49 inch screen would be overkill for me, but jeeez, that's an insane value.
Its VA panel is great and more than 600nits is very bright, 10Bit ensures great color accuracy if you use it for design purpose. 120Hz sounds good, but we musicians don't need that.
I don't know about your exact room dimensions, but if they were like mine, I'd expect it to be too big for your setup.
The only thing you have to be aware of which gamers don't: Your speaker placement. Others have mentioned this before. But I'm sure you'll figure this out properly. :like:
If it's suitable and if you like best the Samsung 49, just go for it! You can't do anything wrong with such a big screen, it's just awesome to have that!
I've also seen others using their 75 inch TVs as their primary studio screens, but that would def be too big for smaller rooms like ours!

so i got it.. its great, i like it.. ill keep it. because of my homestudio desktop setup limited space, the speaker spacing might be not ideal.. but its ok anyways. So far, the only thing that i dislike is it does only *x1440 in height, wish the monitor itself was a bit bigger in height and could do *x2160, that would be perfect.

As further i keep on using this 49" samsung, there is another thing i would like to add: my main monitor used to be an EIZO Flexscan EV3237, despite of its age there IS a slight difference in definition and sharpness precision display quality.

This Samsung 49", no matter how i tried to tweak various sharpness settings and dpi scale settings, the samsung is not that precise and sharp as the Eizo, that is mostly noticeable on system/ui fonts. As you fiddle with the "sharpness" slider the fonts tend to appear either blurry or a bit washed out, despite of that i have managed to find an acceptable sharpness setting for a comfortable reading/view. -it's not a big deal though, but the difference with the Eizo is still noticeable. To give you an idea of precision & definition display loss: less than 5% on the samsung.

Knowingly, Eizo is tailoring their monitors for graphics & video application and this samsung is for gamers & general use. (and there was a difference in price too: the Eizo EV3237 was $1,500+ when i bought it +4 years ago)

Anyways, with setting adjustments and windows system tweaks i ended up by finding a very acceptable solution on the Samsung: i have set my brightness to 0, contrast to 100 and sharpness to 60 on the monitor, with a refresh rate of 120hz

In windows settings, i have disabled night light, turned HDR games and apps to ON, scale and layout to 125%. Except a slight lack in definition and precision quality, overall the Samsung 49" is a great monitor to work for music on a timeline-like application. And there is no way to turn back using any smaller monitor than this for that matter.

I have an Nvidia 1080ti, i already tried to plug both monitors and setup a dual display configuration: (eizo ev3237 + samsung 49") both works great at their native resolutions! i have ordered a vesa-compatible wall mount and will hang the Eizo on the top of the samsung49" to have an ultimate dual monitor setup.

You might need to throw those NS10s either side of your 32" eizo monitor (once it's been installed above your ultrawide), 'cos with the speakers so tightly nestled between desk and screen, as they are currently, will most certainly colour/compromise the reliability of your mixes/audio-monitoring...

ultrawide is overrated, it lacks of that analog feel

    Whatever works for you man.

But I can't imagine how you can monitor anything at that distance.

Some of your waveforms haven't even completed before they reach your ears.

that's what I meant when I wrote "5120x1440 still feels less practical than 3840x1600 to me"
about the sharpness, do note big curved screens most likely use different kind of anti-glare coating - for ex. my AW3418DW does not catch reflections of lamp behind my back that much, so definitely big improvement compared to most screens, and on the other hand when looking at monitor from certain very side angle, it becomes completely glass-reflective,
any sort of coating kills sharpness and clarity a little, perhaps reason why most Apple screens are glossy - but I personally prefer less reflections even at cost of slight sharpness loss

very good point, I am planning to redo entire room, as well as the desk - at the moment when I want to listen comfortably, I just sit back about 1-2m further (which obviously wrecks stereo spatial clarity, but it's better than nothing)

a 32 to 9 ratio super ultrawide mointor is too wide for most studios.
i think this 43" monitor below is the best option for studios that has the speaker monitors on the desk to take into account... its as wide as two normal widescreen monitors, but also curved.... resolution is perfect for daw work. 3840 x 1200 (ratio of the screen is 32 to 10)..

the width of this monitor is exactly so that you can fit your studio monitor speakers on the sides..
