Tone2 has announced Saurus 2, an update to the Saurus virtual analog synthesizer plugin for Windows and Mac.

Saurus 2 will be released within the next months. All customers, who purchased Saurus1 between March 2015
and the release of Saurus2, will be able to upgrade to Saurus2 for free.

The upgrade to Saurus2 will be optional for all Saurus1 customers. Saurus2 will be 100% downward compatible.
You will be able to load all your old songs, projects and sounds.

Changes in Saurus 2:
- Enhanced sound quality because the synthesis engine has been completely reworked
- Over 260 (=827-563) additional patches
- Completely reworked all factory sounds
- Added a comfortable patch browser
- Added new Rootkit and additional Spyware, Trojans, and Worms
- Much more detailed emulation of the ‘analog’ sound. The degree of analog behavior is now selectable
- Redesigned graphics
- More comfortable user interface
- A huge number of further new features and enhancements
- Saurus2 is 100% downward compatible with all previous versions

Seriously! HAHAHA I've tried most of the tone2 stuff, nothing special imo. Actually, I've found his soft synths to be a bit too polished sounding.. Except for the out of place, audible clicking on a lot of presets!

I am not sure about Taurus but the developer of Tone2 is an excellent filter designer. Being filter design the most challenging task of DSP. He may not make a lot of buzz while releasing his plugins, but his stuff is bought by top producers all over the world. By professionals I mean, people getting payed for their music who have invested hardware, skills and have a good ear for sounds. His plugins can easily rival Diva and have that fat sound that makes you think of analog.

 

Tone2 could PAY ME to use their products and I would STILL not use them... they suck the inner ring of my sphincter pylori.
