Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and start the new year off right. I recently grabbed the string of programs released - u-he, dune, and the cashmere triton release, installed, then came back to the sister site only to find it wasn't loading...checked my other pc and no problem. Checked into my hosts files and these were recently added within the last couple program installs-

maybe the wyday and wondershare were from an earlier unrelated program, but I dont think so.

VERY weird guys, I am thankful for Cashmeres releases but possibly related to the korg triton release? I dunno

update: yep confirmed, reinstalled the program and it is IN FACT adding the sister site to host files

I've always kept away from any sort of drama, that being said, i'm not sure what is this going to achieve ?

 

It's nothing new. Other (big) release groups did this in the past as well. Even though they were more open about it and said explicitly in the NFO that these site(s) will be blocked on install and also why. But they were also forcing it, as their releases would immediately stop working if the website wasn't blocked anymore. So the users had a choice, either block the website or not use their releases.

That's kind of the way how release groups handled issues with websites where they don't want to see their releases in the past.

From what I can see so far, the Cashmere release continues to work when you unblock the website. For now at least.

Go to terminal and type
sudo nano /private/etc/hosts

Scroll down and delete the audioz entries, ctrl x out to save!

Anyone else get the wondershare links added?

 

I followed the instructions of another user on the sister site and installed using Pacifist, works fine...still connecting to sister site.

Hmmm so that's what that program does

Glad I could help terminal ain't as intimidating as it looks, and can sometimes help activate those plugs that cause crashes

Clear up the host file? Should be all good other than that
