Hi, I was wondering, why is the new Autotune 9 on sister-site top download list? Why the hype? I mean is there some new epic feature I don't know about? Isn't autotune just for fun? Why would someone use it if we have Melodyne. Can someone explain it to me? Thx

 

For me personally, I’m just glad I don’t have to mess with compatibility issues with the old Autotune 8.1.

Also the interface is way more attractive and organized than the old one.

Finally Team V.R. made an astounding achievement bypassing the Codemeter protection. They have been improving their skills diligently and deserve all the encouragement and support we can give.

From where did you get the info that V.R. cracked ilok for Autotune?

 

Hi! I’ll try to answer your questions, other might have more insight to contribute.

All parts of cracked autotune 8 did not work well.

If Autotune only is for fun? Well, almost every singer/producer use it on their releases.

Autotune and Melodyne does not use the same algorythms so they sound different.

 

There's always hype surrounding follow-ups of successfull products like autotune (which ruined more than just one genre of music, but that's my cynical opinon). it's just the nature of a consume-driven economy. Everybody is looking for the next thing that makes them sound EXACTLY like the shit that's out already. LOL, pardigms have deifinitely shifted from being original to indsinguishable. At least in main stream hip-hop.

 

I beleive the question of hype concerned audioz and version 9 in comparison to version 8.

 

Maybe it has something to do with "V.R cracking/baypass Codemeter/WIBU for Autotune 9..."

 

Melodyne is more of a correction plugin (after the vocal is recorded), and auto-tune is more of a real time recording plugin. At least that is how I see it

 

V.r has not cracked ilok the first time. Team air or r2r did it long back when they cracked Ilok dongle-protected Nexus2. I wish to see vr crack Sylenth1 3.

 

Autotune is great for people who can't sing. It's the equivalent of a piano roll for those who lack musical talent. I think it's good that even the tone-deaf people are able to make music nowadays.

I had a go on it, have to say the algo has significantly improved, sounds almost invisible if used correctly, very impressed

 

They brought back the "classic" mode. So.

 

Since many DAWs do not Support ARA, Melodyne is pretty useless therefore .. that's why I use Auto-Tune because it's the same amount of work as If you would use Melodyne in Post Production ..

 

Melodyne is in a totally different ballpark, it's only capable of offline pitch correcting.

So you can't adjust the performance to lean less or more in the pitch correction,
not recognizing this is a major oversight if you produce modern music.
and it misses the "sound" since it is made to sound as natural as possible.

examples? here is a prime example, this track wouldn't sound like this without.

 

Interesting, comparing Autotune real-time to a couple of old guitar synths FX I had.
Portamento on the synths was on or off, but AutoTune's adjustments are pretty flexible.
I may finally learn this thing some. I did use it on some prerecorded guitar tracks I had, but that seemed to suck. On the input, though, you can play WITH it. I did not get into the complicated stuff at all ... just found what I was looking for.

 

I was wondering this myself. The acquisitive nature of people perhaps? Melodyne for me is the pitch correction tool par excellence.The early versions of Autotune seemed very impressive at the time but I have to admit that even for free I didn't bother trying this latest offering.

 

Im not sure what iLok has to do with anyting in this Autotune release. As far as i know its codemeter and nothing else.. But sure it doesnt make it less nice..
