I don't know if I'm alone or you have the same idea about Udemy. AZ is full of this company's tutorials but most of them are terrible. Not just music-related stuff but almost all of its tutorials are foolish and absurd.

    Source, Wikipedia:
In 2007, Udemy founder Eren Bali built software for a live virtual classroom while living in Turkey. He saw potential in making the product free for everyone, and moved to Silicon Valley to found a company two years later. The site was launched by Bali, Oktay Caglar and Gagan Biyani in early 2010.

They usually choose big names for their tutorials, but their quality and the covered materials are awful. Its guests' English accents are also dreadful.:snuffy:

You're not alone, there's a lot of complete shit on their platform.
Their refund and chargeback rates must be astronomical on some of that garbage.

Maybe we should ask Sunny to stop posting them. With this way, their attempts to smirch AZ would shrink.:winker:

They drag AZ's name through the mire...

You're right. A few are decent, but many of them are made kind of this way: a Korean (Korean English...) guy with a web-cam with his coworker teasing him.
They do hundreds of tutorials about anything that moves and most of them cheap.

I usually just ignore anything that's from Udemy. Way too many hacks on their platform just creating courses out of recycled content to create revenue.

It's hilarious when you see someone producing 50 different courses. From how to milk your ants on your ant farm to how to write hit songs for your jug band to how to build your own rocket.

Udemy is as close to a scam you can get without it actually being illegal.

Actually, I'm kind of surprised threads like this aren't much more frequent.
I suspect their cheapest "employees" are social-spammers acting like users writing false (meaning good) things about their courses.
Yeah, this "job" thing they call "copy-writer" the millennials these days...

Actually Udemy have very strict rules. They have to watch and approve your course videos before they go live, for audio and picture quality. They also have lots of vey good advice videos on how to design courses. If you've seen bad videos it's not the Udemy platform itself but poorly-planned courses or unattractive instructors, bad delivery or just not knowledgeable on their subject. Udemy has around 50,000 courses. You would need to watch a large number of videos on Udemy, on many different subjects to make a good assessment. Udemy is an excellent platform and if you have knowledge to share, try it. It's free to put courses on. The only complaint Udemy instructors have is that Udemy are constantly having sales, slashing the prices of your courses to $10 for a few days. But the upside is that there are 9 million students hanging around Udemy!

I really like making tutorials for Reaper users, covering "deeper tips/tricksstuff that is not really lying on the surface of the internet.
Honestly, i do wanna make some money out of it and i am thinking of switching to Udemy (coming from Youtube).
However, i have a terrible voice and my english is bad, that's why i make my tuts without spoken word but only with narration texts.
I am wondering if that is a total no-go for Udemy.
I think i am gonna contact them about this.

    Kind Regards.

It's a major pain in the ass even checking them free when I didn't know their standards. I don't wanna imagine buying one...

    It's highly likely you'll raise Udemy's standards.
Besides, I'm pretty sure I've seen you here and there (Cockos Forum) posting high quality stuff. Good luck and cash if you can

Some of their courses priced like 200 dollars drop to 10 when on sale. What is that, a sale?

for free they are ok, but I would never pay 200 bucks for one. I have a crapload of "legit" ones also after being in a reddit wherer Udemy freebies showed up, they often have 100% off vouchers, so I have several hundred tutorials there ( I still havent watched a single one, lol)

There are a few gems but most of their "courses" are just crap. They certainly can't compare to Pluralsight or Lynda courses

Finally I'm also having a hard time understanding some of the non native English speakers...
