Why should @waverider buy a 150€ plugin if he already has access to elastiquePro3 in reaper?

@waverider: Just try different algorithms in reaper. Something suitable will already be there for you.

So he said : Tried it (Reaper in this case) nope. Or do I understand something wrong ?

And Sinus Well says: try it harder and again

Exactly! ElastiquePro3 is one of the best pitch algorithms on the market. And it's included in Reaper, as well as some other algorithms that give different results. There are also several stretch modes that give different results.
So yes, I say try it again! Try a different algorithm or mode.

Errr... yes. Almost that is. I need to clarify that an algorithm that can do non destructive pitch shift, by paradigm should also be able to perform time stretch as well. It's just the inverse procedure:
PitchShift (non destructive) = Keep speed/change pitch
Timestretch (non destructive) = Keep pitch/change speed
If ElastiquePitch doesn't suport timestretching, it's the developer who hasn't included the function in that particular soft, ElastiqueAAX for PT does both. Zplane also sell licenses of their Elastique timestretch/pitchshift algorithm to many well known developers like Steinberg, Magix, Ueberschall etc.
    Cheers :)

The question was what's the best plugin for the job, not how you can get hold of it.

I acknowledge that you asked for a plugin; sorry this ain't a plugin but it is still interesting and very useful. (and it's free)

It's a command-line facility. I use it to batch process folders full of files, by pitch, or tempo, with or without holding one or other constant. It works surprisingly well.

Note: I'm not talking about tweaking bits 'within files'; for that it's hard to see anything better than Melodyne, or the various plugins that use zplane tech.

    See https://www.surina.net/soundtouch/soundstretch.html
They claim that this is the underlying tech being used by dozens of mainstream audio apps.
    https://www.surina.net/soundtouch/applications.html

Command line available control switches include:

    -tempo=n
    Change the sound tempo by n percents (n = -95.0 .. +5000.0 %) pitch stays constant

    -pitch=n
    Change the sound pitch by n semitones (n = -60.0 .. + 60.0 semitones) tempo stays constant

    -rate=n
Change the sound playback rate by n percents (n = -95.0 .. +5000.0 %) pitch and tempo both change

    ---

Update: thanks Polomo, Gyro for pointing out paulstretch - I hadn't seen that before
but I notice that it's aimed at 'extreme' time streching.
For less drastic stretching, the paulstretch site actually recommends using the soundtouch library that I referred to above.

Reaper ALREADY includes Elastique 3 & many modes. Try: Open your item properties, select Elastique 3 SOLOIST, speech mode.
