Hi Guys
I'm looking for a vst which could take off ambiance and reverb from live recordings. Deverberate worked well but it crashes my system.
So if you have experience with any equivalent, please point it to me.
I'm using Reaperx64, win7x64sp1

Probaste con iz rx dereverb ? Tiene 4 bandas y la opcion de " learn" ...despues lo ajustas..
El otro que he usado es el plugin alliance m..spl de-verb ( este no es tan bueno para mi , pero come menos recursos)

También tenes los de accusonus y acon digital pero me parece que no se si te va a funcionar bien. Tenemos el mismo sistema operativo. Y si es para en vivo.... yo probaria con el Rx p el spl.

You can achieve this with a downward expander or a transient designer (lower sustain) too.

 

There's SPL De-Verb Plus.

Which isn't really free.

 

Try do reduce the side and leave mid untouched..

 

Another one to try would be Zynaptiq Unveil. I remember getting pretty good results with live recordings. Quite some time ago though and it was for solo instruments and an interview in a big crowded space ..absolutely not freeware, costs an arm and a leg..:/

All of these do the job, but the result depends on careful choice of settings.
Zynaptiq is rather complicated and needs some practice.
SHEPPi is a free VST, emulation of very expensive Algorithmix K-100, but it's a rather common opinion that it works pretty well.

 

Try to update to the latest Deverberate 2.x.x build, maybe they fixed that crash problems, don't know. It is very hard to find any changelogs/release notes, rarely noticed on gearslutz. Btw all new updates work with older key licenses, automatically catch them after standard uninstall/install procedure, because your key is on PC from v1 or so. Download latest demo from ac*n site and install in same vst folder.
Had no any problem with their stuff... Strange... Reaper (since v3-v6.0rc) , wim7x64sp1maximal.
Sometimes updating intel graphics, updating other drivers help too much. Just a special case if it is a software stability/compatibility/performance problems. Intel graphics update from 2012 to 2019 version/build helped many plugins to work properly (gui, new-framework plugins, analysers, other) such as smartcomp, pulsar mu, ddmf mde and few others.

Yep, runs smoothly here with Reaper and Win7 x64.

 

Zynaptic's Unveil is probably the one that can achieve the best results imho (with second being Izotope RX's de-reverb). It is also very cpu intensive and introduces a load of latency so not really suited for realtime processes but just for editing purposes.

I barely know about this because I have no use for it among other reasons. But I tried just for fun Unveil and I was impressed with the results.
despite that, I can't talk about serious usage/tweaking and haven't tried Deverberate/RX.
Oh, and my CPU stills wears crosses

 

Unveil is also very slow rendering. I believe I can hear some digital artefacts ('underwater sound') it creates too.
I forgot to mention earlier that there are some very important things that you can do with Sonible Freiraum plugin only, especially with controlling the chaotic low-end 'entropy' reverberation.

I'm finally using Zynaptiq UNVEIL and it's working well. It's not perfect of course, but adding a multiband EQ after it makes the Job.
