Hi friends. I need your help. I am wondering what is better to spend my time. I want to lean Logic pro or Cubase 7 in order to mixing my songs. I actually use Ableton 9 to produce the music. Thanks

You don't find Live suitable for finishing your tracks?

Think about it more, you most adopt pretty much good workflow to work like that, let's face it, when your track reach usual mixing stage you are faced with pretty much good amout of automations of different things, send busses and critical stuff that you need to bounce in order to port it to another DAW, it's worth considering pros&cons in this, you already should have pretty neat workflow to manage this and pretty good reasons why you don't choose your DAW of choice to finish what you already started and what are you getting in another DAW that yours don't have.

As Logic user, I would recommend you Cubase 7, one thing for sure, Logic have more channel inserts, that's the only better thing concerning actual mixing process, for DAW all in one I would take Logic any day and night, for mixing only,Cubase without thinking....don't get me wrong, I have my reasons why I dig Cubase, I merged from Cubase to Logic based on pros&cons about actual workflow and inspiration, it's faster and effective for me to work in Logic and don't get me wrong, Logic is nice for mixing too, but I prefer Cubase automatons and editing over any DAW I tried

    Yes Xsze are true ,

i was using Logic pro since 4 years and now i switch to cubase 7 ,the workflow are better and the sound are moooore beter cause cubase 7 can be used in 32 bits and logic is 24 bits and you can feel it and here it so i think the best of the bot are cubase 7 plus you have some good plug'in on it .

Thanks brothers for your replies. What do you think guys. Is Logic pro dead or not? Because i don't see any signal of a new Logic Pro, however many Pro are using it yet.

I think it's not, reading some rumors X is close, but it's usual rumors, on other hand I'm pretty much satisfied with 9, if the X is even better nice, if it's never gonna come out, I don't care that much right now, 9 is doing his job pretty neat for me

    Agree,
sure that logic will have melodyne inside. I love Logic. Of course steinber products have their qualities, but is so little what i miss.
I worked years wiht nuendo and I was always dispointed with how much cpu an external midi expend.
As said before, your need dictate what is better for you, its like a dvelopmente of a musical identidy. So search, whatch some videos about. Nowadays is a piece of cake adquire experience.
But you must decide about mac and pcs. Usually its very expensive use nuendo in a mac right?
Bad news: probably you will miss some features od Live when you decide about the new platform

Honestly , IMHO its what makes the best sense to you which would be best, i have both Logic 9 and Cubase 7. i wanted to get into Logic as i have a lot of Musician friends that use it.. i tried i really did but the work flow for me just didnt work. Cubase i been using for years. it just makes better sense to me. it for me is easier to use, and ive never run into a problem that i didnt have enough Insert lanes... side chaining in cubase is a bit different then in Logic . but anything you can do in Logic you can do in cubase and vis versa i think and still get a great final mix. t comes down more to your chops & songwriting ability. and knowing how to Produce your track as well. Cubase 7 or Logic. they both have demo modes i believe try em both and see what one ya like better.

personally im in LOVE with Cubase 7 and i recommend it to anyone. at least give it a try

If you want new DAW just for mixing, better check Mixbus, it's on sale now for 39$

Live is great if you are comfortable with him, if you want to ditch him than take everything in consideration, even more DAW's out there, for mixing only, just take that aspect in consideration, it would change the way of thinking for sure
