I'm crossing my fat fingers that it is not over $2K. However, there is a great chance that it may even go for 3K. that would be an OUCH!! for me.

By the look of its design, I feel that Behringer wanted to keep this board as compact as possible while still manage to cram as many INS/OUTS in it. I don't think they could have done it while trying to satisfy everyone with the needs for more connections. They even introduced it as a “personal mixing console”. So, they may already be projecting to target the mid-size market with it (I'm guessing here). However, all is not lost though! This thing can be expanded through stage boxes if needed.

I can hardly imagine what a different company might price it at. Behringer seems to be working miracles lately in production and pricing but this has some third party parts in it right?

DANG!! Way over my head. I was really interested in its DAW Controller feature. However, after watching the Sweetwater overview, I'm not sure how much of compatibility Ableton Live (in my case) will have with that mixer. They will have to provide Maps for each DAW as Mackie does but that's probably not gonna happen.
I guess I'd rather look for a second-hand SSL Nucleus on eBay because it is a dedicated DAW Controller from the get-go; they currently are going for as low as $2.5K.

this is very interesting mixer.... don't know how far the DAW controller integration for studio one... but I wonder how many digital I/O it has.. with all the plugins ready in the mixer, maybe can just digitally sum all DAW tracks into it and mix straight away on the mixer and print back to 2bus in DAW.. so my DAW can only be a recorder and playback device.

I am really considering this, but the price really not that handsome for my country currency and economic status. Hope in future get to see more in-depth reviews of it fx and plugin.

Dear Uli: Now I am really interested on hearing how it sounds
I have some question for you
    • if all the action takes place on the screens why did you make them so small? Will it be possible to connect mixer to a TV screen or projector via HDMI?
    • Who wrote the plugins? Are they emulations of specific analog gear or have you randomly placed front panels gear just because?
    • Integration with DAW: Can you explain? Is it real interaction or is it the usual marketing trick?

A Standard FX rack with eight true-stereo processors supplies you with a useful array of modulation, EQ, and dynamics effects. Beyond that, you also get a second Premium FX rack with eight true-stereo processors with sought-after algorithms from TC Electronic’s M3000 multi-effects processor, as well as world-class effects from Lexicon, Quantec, and EMT. All 40 of the WING’s stereo input channels boast built-in EQ and dynamics, some of which are modeled after famous hardware from legendary manufacturers like Pultec, SSL, SPL, Neve, Focusrite, dbx, Universal Audio, Elysia, and Empirical Labs. -From Sweetwater.

It's Mackie Control protocol, so how well it interfaces with our DAWs, out of the box, depends on how much they think each specific DAW is worth the effort writing the controller script for. Or, if we're lucky enough, our DAW developers decide to create custom HUI/Mackie templates for the Wing itself and just load their software with it. I'm very curious about this too.
AES50 is cool if you have other hardware that interfaces.
As long as there's a functional controller editor built into that thing, it's fairly simple to to make custom controller templates.
And I thought I was kicking ass with my BCF and Reaper.

I need to see if you can link up an XR18 or similar AIR products to it. If so, that might make this thing worth it... Still a cool board from 1st glance though

I could find a use for that.
But, for the present, my best plan is to scrabble around for the pennies to buy a feckin' lotto ticket.
