    Hello,

is there a simple audio recorder accepting VST plugins for guitar like Amplitube, BIAS Amp, TH-U or others ?
I'm a guitarist and I wish I could quickly save my ideas without having to open my DAW, create a project, etc.
By the time everything is ready, I will have already lost my idea ... :(

IK Amplitube has the stand-alone version with an 8 track recorder. Reaper opens in 1 sec. is that too long not to loose your idea?

just create a template in reaper , so when you fire it up (1 sec) it loads your ampsim and drum machine and such.

    Audacity?
    It's still free, too.

I concur with @korte1975. Reaper has lately become my weapon of choice.

Also, you can use Reaper that way and it's free to try as long as you wish.

templates will save a lot of time setting up a project.
or something like audacity will load quicker than most DAWs. it can host VSTs but its not great to work with. i would suggest quickly capturing your ideas in audacity then exporting them over to your DAW for editing and effects.

True ! (for the most of the DAWs I suppose). I work with Ableton Live 10 but it doesn't load quickly and sometimes I just want to plug my guitar and play, so at this time when you get an idea you need a fast software just to record it. Maybe I have to think different and create a template in Ableton and load it everytime I'm playing guitar ?

I use reaper for that. Like mentioned. My template opens up and is ready faster than I can sit on my chair and plug the guitar in.
