I was gonna convert EzKeys notes to the guitar sound. As you know, the voice between the piano and the guitar is different. When I googled it to find, there were only about converting the piano sheet to the guitar tab. What I am looking for is converting it in DAW (midi editor) easily. Is there any way or plugin?

Aren't the notes auto aligned to the different strings?

Export the EZKeys midi trak.....reimport it bak into ur daw on new track and choose a Guitar Vst (Musiclab or Amplesound) as the sound producer and make edits to it in the midi editor if you want to transpose some of the notes around!

Are they? I'm not sure as I don't know the music theory well, but it sounds a bit not natural.

I tried and found it was nothing different from dragging from EzKeys directly.

I mean if you for instance play an e minor chord with e, g, b, the guitar can't play e and g on the same string so it should be re-aligned. Have you already tried it?

Forget the look, what does it play? Is the g just skipped?

Ok Maybe I dont understand the question. Notes are notes, midi is midi. Anything you do in EZKey's is midi and that midi can assigned to any plug in instrument. If you're talking about using ezkey's and an effects plugin to make it sound like a guitar then just put an amp sim over it.

As for strings, even the newer guitar libraries guess and have different modes and almost always come with midi keyswitches to force the note to be played on a specific string. Since even new guitar libraries will sometimes take simple power chords or 5th's and try to play them in impossible ways unless you define the strings.

So besides a little midi editing I dont see the problem besides learning the basics of how a guitar is played. Midi is midi but articulations are far different. You can't palm mute a piano, nor can you bend a note naturally [you can with midi but you have to be good enough that it doesn't sound dumb as crap].

Anyway the idea of using piano is to back up a guitar track, not to replace it. Using other instruments to follow guitar is actually more common than known for voice shapping in recording. Producers have used everything from woodwind instruments to piano to synths to craft a custom sound but should only be over lay. If your trying to make a piano a guitar it isn't going to work. I mean to some degree it can but like I said articulations. You'd be better off figuring out the basics of playing guitar before hand or you're going to have a 6 armed drummer problem.

yes the note will be skipped as unless you have maybe 2 guitar libraries out there put in keyboard mode it may work but most will Only take 1 note per string because that's how it's designed. And if that note isn't available anywhere else it will get cut or it will put it 8-12 frets away from the song's prime position to hit it.

Anyway, this just isn't a good idea in anyway. Fun thought experiment doesn't work in real world application.

That's what I expect, the question is what is the VSTi doing with the skipped note. This
is for sure a bad solution.

The 8-12 fret thing is only in SOME guitar libraries and has to be set specifically into "keyboard mode" Ample Guitar Libraries do this, I believe everything past shreddage 2 does, V-metal can, and Heavier 7 Strings vst. I know besides v-metal most prominy ones don't have it unless they are updated, strawberry and other guitar libraries companies don't seem to have it either. But unless even with the ones that can do it unless you put it on keyboard mode it'll either move or cut the note.

So if it moves the note and say you're in a drop setting you'll see the first 2 frets line up but then it'll put the octave 8 frets up so unless you have a really huge hand and fingers is impossible or it will just not play. It's kind of like Kontakt cut trunkated notes or it's drop sample mode. But the keyboard mode removes the "realistic" limitation from the libraries mentioned above. However if it's in any other mode like normal, playing, or guitar mode, problems.

And still you're gonna run into an 8 armed drummer problem when piano parts usually consist of 2 pieces the bass and treble parts. Meaning you'd have to separate the notes by octaves to the a bass and guitar library since even Heavier 7 strings only goes down to A and you can force Shreddage down to G without any digital artifacts or distortion but most guitar libraries anymore the lowest you can get without kontakt altering the pitch is Drop C Drop A for 7 string libraries. And still that's only 3 octives on a piano so you have to separate anything below C3 depending on lowest note in library and then take everything under that and put it to bass.

So playing a full piano piece even on midi on guitar will not work unless you are playing a single hand part or only playing the treble or bass parts of the piano. If you try to combine them it's just gonna be funny sounding. Note to mention most key switches are set for under midi C3 or above Midi C6 or C7 depending on library.

So there is also the problem or tonal Range. So you either have to move the bass lines up several octaves, split or just have a mess that will sound like garbage.

I recently noticed the power chord is the solution as you discussed. So, I moved the midi notes from EZkeys to a guitar track and removed unnecessary notes for guitar sound. And then it sounds a bit better.

Ok, I have another question. I am trying to do the same thing with MusicLab's RealLPC. As you know, the feature is great, but the sound is not. Thus, I've been making the riff with the RealLPC Song mode and have been trying to apply it with Ample AME. Once I move the midi notes from RealLPC to another track with a different instrument, it sounds completely different. I tried to edit it, but it was not easy. Is there a simple way to do it?

Did you play all the notes or use pre-made patterns?
The latter probably won't work with other instruments, due to keyswitches.

The patterns. As far as I know, you can use only patterns in Song mode. Or is there a method to input the notes besides the patterns? I noticed the keyswitches are the pain in the ass in this case. Which means there is no easy way. Isn't it?

Sorry I've no idea and yes, there's no easy way to emulate real instruments in the box. At least none I know of.
