    Fun album mate. I like all the little puns from song titles to lyrics to musical themes (from Beatles' Michelle to JMJ to Depeche Mode), sounds like it was going to be a thematic, genre defining but also deforming album. It kinda achieves that if i may say so. Nicely produced, i'd love a little more low end but that's just preference, the way it is now is more true to an early 80s sound. Dig the Fairlight and 8bit gen sounds. I'll listen to it a bit more later.

    Great tracks. Thanks for sharing. I am a sucker for italo-disco. Agree 100% with everything @taskforce said above including the low end. To your credit, I must say that in the '80s Italo-disco records were known for their lack of low end. The same occurred with freestyle. The low end was non-existent in 90% of them even in systems like the ones at Palledium, Xenon and Limelite in NYC. It could not be blamed on the equipment. It was the result of the one man-does-it-all in his bedroom or living room. Including vocals. We went from full-blown orchestras recording in great sounding rooms with millions worth of equipment and professional mixing and mastering engineers during the 70 disco era to a guy with a couple of synths, a sequencer and a groovebox going straight into his tape deck or 8-track Fostex or TEAC Reel to Reel.

    Yes, I really enjoyed inserting stylistic quotes from the past: after all, the 80s were strongly based on aesthetics. I believe this is the point of the whole “synthwave” movement: AESTHETIC neon lights/legwarmers/Ferrari Testarossa.
    I never thought that the sample of Beatles “Michelle” was recognizable: it is completely autotunized

    Sorry to say that actually this is not an artistic strategy. Happens that I'm mixing now with Yamaha HS5, decent speakers on midrange, but completely bassless, I cannot control whats going on under 100hz and just have to trust my intuition.

    Sooner or later I'll upgrade monitors, maybe I would need something with 8" cone, what scares me is the fact that afterwards I should also work on soundproofing the room ...
