Midi resolution is 1/127 fixed for all the hardware. You can't generate more resolution by buying more expensive hardware.

WRONG! A 10-bit fader resolution gives you 1024 steps. The 6-bit one has only 64.

Fake news! Don't take what i said out of context. You mentioned the Faderport 16. We were discussing Faderport 16 and Faderport 8. The faders in those units are not the ones found in the Classic or StudioLive Series. In other words, they are not the same faders that you are referring to. Go to your nearby music store and try the Faderport 8 and the StudioLive32. Report back on your experience.
On top of that you read 2 articles, both mentioning ALPS faders, and you assume that they are the same ones. In case you did not know, ALPS make several varieties of faders such as carbon and conductive plastic versions. Moreover, you have logarithmic or audio/linear taper. Different quality, different prices.:guru:

Edit: just a little N and K ALPS faders brochure attachment for you

Let me take a deep breath. Did it calm me down? Hell no! I have a good source. My tactile sense and ear. They don't feel or sound the same manually or automatically.

Did I say that? Another misquote. What I said was:
    I also said:
Just do that little experiment. Btw, if you want to buy a Faderport 8 let me know. I have an extra brand new one in unopened box. First $300 takes it.

Since we are all over the place here, i would like to point out that there is a guy in Germany that will custom built a MiDi controller to your specs. For more info go to http://www.faderfox.de/uc4.html

If it is about resolution, I can use my laser mouse for infinite resolution.

Worst case scenario, I still prefer to buy 2 of these for the price of Fader 1, instead of paying for the nonsense marketing of Softtube.
I can have 4 of these for the price of Fader 1 + Console 1. Sky is the limit, not my brain.
