...It's why IMHO we need an impartial, incorruptible judge who take the charge to select the song / piece, and finally proclaim the winner...

...Olymoon? Are you there? I summon you!

Here is another mix which initially I thought was too compressed but am thinking it sounds clearer. Let me know if you think otherwise though?

Thanks for listening @SoundLanguage ! I assure there are no winners on this end, only those aspiring to lose less:wink:

Thanks for sharing with us, KingPaoFist! After listening, here's what i found, of course it's totally subjective:

1°) Both tracks lacks trebles, harmonics seems a little too much muffled for my taste, voice and cymbals suffers the most of this treatment.

2°) If ever I had to make a choice, I'd prefer the first mix to this last one, because it sounds a little too much "compact", it lacks "air" between instruments...

But i really like this kind of music, it posseses a great energy and impact, the musicians and the singer plays just great, so to sums up: everything is great... but (from my limited pov) the mix needs improvements.

EDIT: you could try one thing: change the singer's microphone for a more qualitative one. IMHO talented singers like this deserves the best possible tool to express nuances, talent and power.

Thank you for the precision, JMoutton!

...I've simply red the first message, and the subject was: an informal, internal audiosex-only mix contest, not some commercial contest i've never heard about, it changes everything! The result is that I'm far less interested anymore...

    Provide, and see what changes.
For example, create an sample pack, and let them use it to create.

Thanks for the notes! I think I'll revisit that first mix and see if I can clean it up more when I get a chance. I used some highly saturated amp modulations which is probably what muffled it. Overall I was trying to go for an early punk lofi vibe and used a lot of cassete vst's.

I'd love to mix-up the sexes!!

hey wait, that came out wrong

I haven't done a remix in a loooong time. Sounds like fun.
What about a time limit? like 60 days 45 days, 30 days.
