    hi all

i work with Sony / Magix Vegas Pro 15 and will keep working on this Program.
My XFX 208X is dated and Vegas does not support Rendering with this Card. Only CPU Render

    You're right with NVIDIA.
But I really had no luck with the (cheaper) fanless AMD cards as well. They made me problems I never tought a graphic card could be responsible for, e.g. printouts taking ages(!) and other funny side effects depending on driver version. In the end I went back to NVIDIA despite of the DPC spikes.

aside from the AMD point, also. you really don't need an ultra-fast graphics card for audio unless you're doing video as well. if your daw requires a better video card just to do audio, your using the wrong DAW. I can. recommend AMD RX 500 series cards as they run around 100 euro and do the job nicely. I know this because i have a RX 580 in my audio PC running Cubase 10 and works great.

you can get used GTX 1080 Ti fairly cheap nowadays (do note performance wise it's around RTX 2080), and it beats all released AMD cards so far

I have a GT710 with no fans, 2 GB, bought it as a minimum requirement to run things smoothly but i'm having some issues opening some Klevgrand plugins, it takes too long. Also on iZotope Tonal Balance, the performance becomes sluggish when opening the plugin on Studio One. Do you think upgrading to a better card will make things better? Is 4GB enough? Thanks in advance.

That a plugin is sluggish could be many factors; CPU, RAM, Hard disk and graphic card. So lagging is often a result of the totality of your system.
    See the benchmark here:
    https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GeForce-GT-710/3649vsm77649

So adding a new graphic card to an old system would not necessary increase the performance. In some cases new stuff would make the system even more sluggish due to compatibility. That being said a new graphic card usually would increase the performance

Thanks for the answer. My system is pretty fast, and lots of ram, with ssd disks. It's strange that when i open those two i mentioned (izotope tonal balance and klevgrand plugs) make the system go slow.

    Hi :)
The Asus Rog Strix GeForce GTX 1660 Ti @ about 320 dlrs is a bit over your budget but atm is the best for its price, with performance well beyond the older 1060 and probably the best cooling solution of all 1660TIs it will give you good GPU acceleration with Vegas etc. Dual fan models of the 1660 Ti go for about 270-300, and there are also single fan configs for about 240-250:
    https://www.newegg.com/asus-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-rog-strix-gtx1660ti-a6g-gaming/p/N82E16814126295

A step down and well within your budget is the normal 1660, my suggestion is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Gaming OC at about 240 dlrs is great too:
    https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1660-gv-n1660gaming-oc-6gd/p/N82E16814932137

On the red camp the only card that fits your profile should be the older AMD Radeon 580. It is about 30% slower than the 1660Ti, but anyway i consider best buy the MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR OC 8GB, here:
    https://www.newegg.com/msi-radeon-rx-580-rx-580-armor-8g-oc/p/N82E16814137118?Item=N82E16814137118

If you still feel you want something better from AMD, the all new 5700XT is where you should look but the cheapest card with a dual fan solution will set you back around 400dlrs. Note that reportedly the best 5700XT by far atm is the Sapphire Nitro at around 480 dlrs.
Here the cheap and the best:

    Cheers:D

1.JPG 2.JPG First is Tonal Balance 2, Broad setting selected, second pic, which makes the graphics sluggish, is with Fine setting selected.

hmm looks like your system should handle that with ease. Could be a Studio One issue. Can you test the plugins in another DAW?

So, tried Reaper, Tonal Balance works ok. Must be a Studio One problem... Any tips what to do next? I already updated the graphics card driver.

Yeah, that's what i figured. It's sad. Is there a chance you have Studio One installed so you can give it a try? :)

Changing DAW is a pain in the ass......I'm using both Ableton and Cubase. I have also tried Studio One but never got sold.
