yeah, I would be curious too, as I haven't had a virus or whatnot since os7 in 1991... not saying they aren't out there, or perhaps I am doing the "right" things in terms of sourcing things etc... but hell, for shits and giggles I run the different virus and malware software once in awhile, and outside of javascript exploits I know to avoid for the most part, I haven't gotten anything, and I'm downloading stuff all the time.

I'm sure there are some out there, and will be more with slightly growing user base % and iOS 'kinda' convergence increasing the numbers, and I'm not sure if the kernel is more robust (hell, it's just a pc running unix right?)... and I have read some news stories saying stuff.... but yet to see anything on my systems... (but my work systems are ALWAYS offline and i source stuff from another machine..)

Don't be scared of the virus. Embrace it, become its best friend.

Then have sex with its mother.

Me neither since Windows 3.11 in 1995... without any protection other than my router's firewall default settings and... a bit of common sense.
To other Mac or PC haters: do we really need to argue more about "Windows vs macOS" vulnerabilities?...

No, I don't have complete sources for my statement. There are also no fully elaborated studies on this topic, as every day new or old modified malware appears. However, there is a clear trend in recent years, which can be determined by comparing the different databases of malware.

If it calms you, yes, the number of small simple driveby malware is lower on the mac. However, these are usually only a small hazard for the user, since they are usually recognized immediately or can be quickly removed by anyone with mediocre IT skills.
But Phishing is a very common problem with Apple devices. There are countless known cases here. Especially for mobile devices.
A proven bigger problem with mac is ransomware. Here the amount of single copies is higher. Which in my opinion makes sense, since mac is synonymous with money.
Another problem is the hardware. See Spectre and Meltdown.
In any case, the Mac operating system is in no way more secure than Windows. I'm not saying that mac would be worse, since I like working on mac as much as on the windows pc. There is simply no significant difference when it comes to safety.

XProtect protects against malware, but only if it's already in the database.
Much of the security is provided by the App Store, which loads most programs on your device. The gatekeeper checks the signature of programs in the Appstore. However, the binary code is checked here, not the source code. So it is no problem to hide nasty code lines in the source code. It isn't checked by Apple, so it happens again and again.
Another malware-blockage is the Unix rights system. But with a rootkit the Unix rights system is just as vulnerable as the equivalent on windows. It's still good that it's there.

I only had one infection of a Windows PC for over 20 years. This malware came from the factory and had a time bomb of about one year. This malware destroyed the hardware and caused a burn. The factory paid for the damages incurred.
Otherwise, I never had problems on Windows. Does this mean that Windows is especially secure? No, every 3 months I'm allowed to free the Windows computer of a friend from tons of malware. So Windows PCs are insecure? No, my friend just has no understanding of technology and clicks on everything that flashes.

All in all, I can say: No, owning a mac does not protect you from malware in any way. Just because you've never been personally affected does not mean that your OS is safe. Because it's not and there are countless cases of infections.

To be honnest like i said i downloaded files long time ago, couple years from now, and i dont even remember whether i downloaded it from Rutracker or from here, but from here is not because i tested it yesterday . None of them you have mentioned are not that file i used to have on my google drive stored. On my external backup software HDD i have version from AZ, but for some personal reasons i made a backup version on Google drive of file from a unknown source for me right now.
So my HDD was not by me and i needed to install XPAND so i have to download from my drive . But now i deleted that file just in case if i forget about it .... i am not downloading nothing from other sites and because of that i said it might be downloaded from that two sources only ... But now i am skeptic about that.... Now the thing is gone. I have yesterady scanned my backup software HDD about 500gb of softwarez, all files from sister site and rutracker ,and everything was perfectly clean and what happened with that XPAND i am very curious too....

Now like i said the problem is gone i was scarred to hell , but for now i am clean and safe....

    Best regards

yeah Hennessy, I agree with @Sinus Well 's well written reply, sure, OS X is vulnerable absolutely... but having been at this game for a long time and practicing proper install hygiene and attempting to learn as much as I can in this regard, I think mostly it's a combination of luck and common sense that have kept my machines clean for the most part.

    This is what you've wrote:
    And now you write this:
What are you sure about exactly?... What makes you think your issue come from Rutracker?
You started by accusing an Ozone release from Rutracker.
    Then a keygen for Spire.
    Now this Xpand2 release.
    What's next?
    Your grandma?
Sorry dude, but your story seems a bit complicated to me...

You are not funny at all. You should read from my first post to se my whole procedure... I was testing along what was the cause...So i have downloaded all possible files to test them what was causing my problem. I am not making fun of anyone i think it is not polite way to help someone... But that would be just me...

My problem is solved as i wrote that and i do not have need to explain no more, especially DUDES like you!

You dont have a fucking right to even say something about my grandma, because the subject was not about grandmas. So if i get banned i don care, fuck you!

Calm down. No reason to be insulting because of a sarcastic message. If you have a personal problem with another member, this is the wrong place. there is PM or the fightclub for that :thanks:

I am not making funny i was i a problem and i sam sorry but comment like that that involves somebody from my family and who is not amoung livinig it is not ok... I was not sarcastic and no insulting anyone in this thread. My intention was to eventualy help someone and get help for myself... You can make sarcastic comments but no involving family in any discussion, because i was not doing that. We need as musicians to be polite and helpful not sarcastic. This is not humor section, or correct me if i am wrong ok...

I really havent so rude comments, that is not sarcastic when you mention a family memeber that is not living... I am offended so i will not pull what i said... Ok

As long the thread goes in right direction. Thanks

Maybe my bad english was misleading, but again i have wrote every single step what i was doing. So ok call me crazy and panicking but i was about to loose my project and something else but mainly time do get fresh installation of Windows and programs. And yes i am accusing Ozone 9 because the firsr one that gives me a headache was that but i explained what was the problem then i restored my system with Acronis then i got new nastier thing with that XPAND file. I guess its a bad luck, but anyways i looked for help and the problem was real you have screenshots so you can see by yourself! End of story

    Thanks

Avast is one of the best antiviruses with having little effect on the performance of the system. I don't get the reason for the hate. Show me some charts and comparisons instead of air talking.

    Computer Performance after installation:

That small delay in application launching for AVASt is becaue it runs machine learning algorithm to detect any malware even if it is not on their database:

I personally rare use AVAST because gives me too much false positives for keygen and patches because of that i have not installed on my PC otherwise AVAST would be my first choice in AV world. For system stability and overall resource consumption it is the very best AV in that region.... Eset is not so much different in performance ,except when is doing dedicated scanning or startup scan, but in system monitoring it is all fine and light .... And ofc , at the end all depends on system configuration and if there is enough PC power that can handle ESET... AVAST is pretty much so light it can be installed on all kind of PC configuration to work without any problem ,and that is in my experience .....

    Crystal clear.
    Yep, it's you.
Okay, so I will change my sentence: "What next? MY grandma?"
She's also dead and was the person I loved the most in this world full of... people... like you who takes everything at face value (or at first degree, to be 100% clear).
But your explanations, probably because of their soporific length, ended up by contradicting themselves in my mind, which leads me to a spike of nervousness with the unfortunate consequence of involving the memory of your beloved grandmother in which was, ultimately, nothing else than the story of a thief somehow punished for his crime. With this in mind, I understand now that the mere idea of involving one of your parents' memory in your felony was unbearable to you. That's why I apologize for doing so.
Mine too... You, in this case.
    Doesn't help, for sure...
You see: you're accusing Ozone 9 (the real and only culprit), then you're accusing Xpand which you don't know where it came from, nor the exact release, and has nothing to do with your "problem", despite your screenshots which doesn't prove anything except that you're using a shitty antivirus.
Despite your "problem solved", I was curious too (and nervous, as I said), reason why I answered to your post 427819 like I've done.
Rest in peace, now and forever... next to our dear deceased loved ones...
    Adios.
