    • Do you collect samples ?
    • Do you sort and edit (chop, slice, normalise, trim...) the collected samples ?
    • Do you create your own samples ?
    • Do you create own sample Instruments (mapping, scripting...)

Do you agree with at least one option above ?
Than this thread is probably for you !

Why I ask theses questions ?
    sorting people :) just curious

    1) Yes.
    2) Not really. Only edit when working when them.
    3) Yes.
    4) It happens. It's been a while now (Kontakt library). I do however set up sampler maps and templates quite often and save these as intruments/maps.

the past three weeks I recorded like 5oo samples of percussion, wanna make pool of like 1500 samples percs only for layering and kits n so on. now after the drum synthesis sessions I'm recording w field mic... after these sessions I'm going to sample all my analog drum machines n gear.... i like that. I learn a lot. processing that stuff is not easy n all together is more work then I ever expected... :disco::)

    collect, yes,
do you mean MATINENCE of collection of sample?

actually, please define what you actually mean by stating "sample collection" since people think of it differently and have different ideas of things and what they are and what they are not.

are you trying to figure out how lazy other people are, and there for justify your owne lazyness? im just currious! :D

ONES UPON a time, i thought one had to invent the wheel every time even for the smallest detail in a pieace of music. liked in a unhealthy obssesive way. - leads me to this thought, "Chose your battles wisely".

actually I am the opposite. I just try to find like minded who love sampling as I do. By collecting I mean collecting samples from any sources. I started collecting samples (akai, cda,wav...) long before torrent was born.

cheers. sorry for assuming your question wasnt a honest one and i dragged it downand replied poorly thinking it was some small kid asking :)

for fun i just checked my sample llibrary, and i still got alot the sounds and samples and patches going back to 1995. well not "alot" compared to todays standard. but, alot of sounds etc. fun looking at them directories and view the titles of sounds and remembering how stuff was back then. - time to dig and use some of them again maybe?

creating instruments or creating music, i'd choose music anytime! :)

As i expressed i was only joking mate, academically speaking you cannot agree to a question because it isn't either positive or negative. So where you ask "Do you agree with at least one option above ?" , it should read "Do you practice any of the above ? " or something similar anyway.
    Cheers :)

yeh inddeed, there are some akai's which are under 500 MB but contain very nice sounds. The best thing about those old Sampls is, that you can get sure they were processed with analog gear since in the early ages didn't exist any plugins.
yeh got it , but anyways i was interested in improving my communication :)
