Can I ask a yes or no question such as, is it a Neve 1081 emu?

Actually I'm thinking Xupito is right with the Trident, so maybe can I ask 2 yes or no questions?

I don't think the EQ is doing this.

May you rest in peace, mate. Was nice to meet you. [IMG]

Lemme ask you this, when there's obviously saturation in it and I did not activate saturation for B, the logical solution must be?

    Yes.

Neither Neve (but their consultants helped to design the consoles after which this EQ is modelled), nor Trident.

Is it the Amek 9098 with mic pre? The high and low shelves are optional though...

It's emulation, correct, but how did I get from A to B?

So it is Brainworx bx_2098 EQ?

EDIT: Some input gain of about 2.4 db. Filters IN at 20HZ and 30K. LF @300 hz with a 2.5 db gain. LMF IN at 100hz with NOTCH on and Q @1:35.00 . HMF IN at 500hz with NOTCH on Q @ 1:35.00. HF IN @21.00khz

So it seems that you just went extreme settings on everything and linked.

Yep, as I said you'll need a 'brain'.

Hey Pirate, take a backseat, please. You already have more Best Answers than the rest of this forum combined. :winker:
What do you do with all of them? Building two Football teams?

So this is with the BX emu and curves active but not changed and "sheen" option?

Not solved yet, my question was 'how did I do this' not with what, that's only a part of it.

    That's it.

I turned up the saturation fully clockwise already for A but all EQ bands were switched off. For B I just turned all bands on, nothing more.
Every other EQ with switchable bands and saturation I've tested so far, added it even if all bands were turned off. They emulated a preamp stage for the whole plugin.
But bx_2098 emulates the saturation for each band separately and this was really surprising and makes it a very versatile saturation plugin.

The first EQ band, no matter which (apart from LP and HP) adds a single harmonic (first odd). The second band, no matter which, adds three more harmonics. The third and fourth add two more harmonics each and raise the level of them all.
Finally the LP raises a bit of the high freqs and the HP a bunch of low freqs (round about +7dB!) at the selected freqs without any additional harmonics.

But with the saturation turned fully up, all the bands behave very strange as soon as you turn them almost fully up, which is great for special fx but makes them less usable for heavy eqing.

A big THANKS to all contributers, I hope you had some fun.
