    Hi guys,
I wanted to share my recent experience with you regarding screen for music production. It could help if you are looking to change your screen environment.
I owned 2 Apple 27 inches for years but I have to say, the space required for having them mounted together with an ERGOTRON LX stand was a bit too much on my deck at the end to optimise my set up.
Then, I started to check on the net what the market was offering....more and more focused on a 32/34 curved widescreen.
The aim was to obtain a real comfort for the timeline....and what I found recently is the 49 Samsung C49HG...
I found a good deal for a new one...man, I saw it just on the internet and it was impressive but as you know, picture or video and reality is something else...
Let me share with you that experience and I tell you, this one is the best moves on my set up I've done for years now...in term of workflow and impact on my creation feeling...
One word: amazing and what a screen guys!!!!Awesome!
It is plugged to my MacBook Pro via an HDMI adapter, plug and play...easy...no more word, here are few pictures!
The only cons I would say is the sleeping mode on the screen, you cannot wake it up with the mouse of the screen, you have to push the ON button, relatively accessible I 've to say.
The good point also is the possibility to position up or down and incline it really easily, that is really convenient for a screen of that size!
Have an excellent day guys and happy music!!!

Well... I have a whopper of a monitor right in front of me. It ain't curved but I'll say, that's a dandy idea. What did you use to bend it? :chilling:

Yep, and for 1000dlrs you got the equivalent of 2x 24" 144hz FHD monitors side by side, which costs around 350-400. Now i wonder, is 2 bezels worth the extra money? Does 144hz refresh rate help you make better music or even work faster?
Guys nowadays, for your DAW you go to such a model (or beyond) for a big monitor:
    https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/philips-436m6vbpab-momentum-4k-freesync-monitor,5921.html
Around 620 euros in my country. Or the equivalent 43" from Dell,LG,Acer. The Philips is the brightest of all monitors in the market @4k res, plus it supports HDR1000 when watching movies or gaming. And it's Quantum Dot too.
This Samsung 49" is a hoax of a monitor, 2 fhd panels glued together for double the actual price, thank you very much. It's still 1080p only longer. It looks good alright and it's a good monitor but the price is definitely not worth the money.
    Cheers

Humm...to be honest, I don't watch movies or play any game. As I said, coming from 2 screens set up, the comfort was the target.
I'm not saying directly I'm doing better music, I don't even know what does it mean "better music"...doing music in a better environment with comfort is the aim and this screen permit me to have that.
In my country, I paid 700 euros which were alright and paid back with the sell of the 2 Apple, so for me a good deal.
The point in this thread is just to point out the fact that working with a DAW could be(it is for me at least!)a real plus or give a path for the search.
I can easily understand for some of us, this not the most convenient but it worth the thought in the choice you make yourself if thinking about the screen for that purpose.
Sonicstate made a test of it, the last generation with USB C port, released yesterday in my country...

@hayabusa I can see your point about comfort. What i don't understand is how this : https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/49--chg90-qled-gaming-monitor-lc49hg90dmnxza/ is more comfortable than this : https://www.digitaltigers.com/zenview-duo24.asp at almost double the money. :) If we 're talking DAW work that is. How is it more comfortable having to scroll up and down in a 40-50 ch project in your DAW's arrangement window since your vertical res is still 1080p (FHD), mine is 1600p(QHD) and the Philips on my example is 2160p (UHD or 4k) which is double yours.

:) because I didn't ask you before!!! I bought this thing regarding the infos I got .. I didn't have much time to spend on to all the tests. Honestly, I didn't even know the existence of your system...IF, maybe I would have been onto it. I saw the Sonicstate review and found the design, the concept and the price (was into my gap). Also, a lot of guys I follow with their studio set up told me the really convenient side of the widescreen.
Though, your system is nice too because the "line" in between both screen is really thin:wink: which was a bit annoying with my Apple screens.
Now, I can ask you: why you didn't share your experience with the community !!!!:bleh:
If you have done it, I would probably have asked you all the Infos and bought it... the reason why I think it is very interesting this discuss to help the other....

This past prime day I replaced my 4 x 1080p monitors with a TCL 50” 4K tv. That plus my dual touchscreens and I can now leave every tab open in Studio One lol.
