What's your "snake Oil" (see White Sea Audio on YT for the term lolz) or most hated vst's you've tried over the years?
just name some, or some of the recent

most hated (inappropriate use): Autotune
most hated (crack never work): Serum
Useless: All those plugins having a too fancy GUI and unprofessional knobs/cursors
(what is the meaning of a “MAGIC - THUMP - BOOM - PUSH - AIRZ” knob??)

 

Anything that is "One button" I avoid like the plague. That kontakt rip off thing by StudioLinked, that quality does not match the asking price at all.

 

Actually I'll add Sonible Smart Comp to this list. Not terrible to control but why is the latency so crazy? inaccurate AI and insane latency, Snake Oil. For 130euro or whatever that's daylight robbery

 

This reverb is enough to make people vomit mate. Agree with you here.

 

I would add FL spectroman. This vst is just weird. cannot really see the levels of the sound as a spectrum analyzer (!). I've seen free spectrum analyzer vst's with much better user interface and therefore more useful for me.

 

Avoid: BeatSkillz, Soundspot, WA Production, Tone Empire, Prolody, denise audio

 

You can' hate one plugin because its crack doesn't work!Normally you shouldn't use cracked software.Buy it and it will work perfectly.Serum is a very good plugin.

 

Why Neutron?

 

Crysonic (most of their stuff)
MAAT (aka Algorithmix - waaay pricey as hardware costs, protection, not good GUI especially re-launched old EQs as brand-new ones, a lot of marketing hype such as No PreRinging for Linear Phase and Super Ultra Mega HD Modern Technologies Innovation Never Done Before etc), but analysers and meters are not so bad.
Some stuff by Waves. "Some" of Waves means "too much".

Mediocre stuff: BeatSkillz/Tone Empire, Analog Obsession.

I have yet to find a use for this or most of the stock FL plugins to be honest. I removed all of the stock plugins except the controllers and patcher. Any 3rd party vst can be easily controlled by browsing the parameters. I find it insulting that they even include bundled garbage like "hardcore" and every synth other than sytrus.

 

I must add Bias FX, Amps are not too bad but snake oil as well. Nothing that Amplitube or Helix can´t do better.

Well, kind of everything that I can't get my hands into for free. No matter what is, I lie and convince myself like "well, it's snake oil anyway, don't bother Xupito, there's things more worth crying for".
