Here's Bill Drummond giving a talk. Haven't watched it yet. So don't know if it's any good.

Has the iPod changed our relationship with music? - Bill Drummond

Here's the Red Army track he was talking about at the end of the talk:

    thanks feridan!

i will smoke a big joint and read this tomorrow for fun

    from the wiki:

"having no money sharpens the wits.... There is no safety net to catch you when you fall."

how about this for my home-recording label: "one foot in the gutter productions"

    from the pdf:

"If anybody actually gets a Number One by following our instructions we promise
them a night out with The JAMS in Madagascar. We will arrange everything."

i'm going to hold them to that!!!!!!

btw- KLF member Jimmy Cauty was one of the founding members of The Orb, one of my favorite bands of the late 90's- i took way too many mushrooms at one Orb concert and nearly freaked out until the Orb's Toxygene song came on and i blissed out dancing with everyone

anybody get the new Lee Scratch Perry & The Orb - The Orbserver In The Star House (2012)?

    great album!

    ALSO about the KLF-

K Foundation Burn a Million Quid was an action that took place on 23 August 1994, in which the K Foundation (an art duo consisting of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty) burned cash in the amount of one million pounds sterling on the Scottish island of Jura. This money represented the bulk of the K Foundation's funds, earned by Drummond and Cauty as The KLF, one of the United Kingdom's most successful pop groups of the early 1990s.

The incineration was recorded on a Hi-8 video camera by K Foundation collaborator Gimpo. In August 1995, the film—Watch the K Foundation Burn a Million Quid—was toured around the UK, with Drummond and Cauty engaging each audience in debate about the burning and its meaning. In November 1995, the duo pledged to dissolve the K Foundation and to refrain from public discussion of the burning for a period of 23 years. Despite this Drummond has spoken about the burning in 2000 and 2004. At first he was unrepentant but in 2004, he admitted to the BBC that he regretted burning the money

The Orb was on constant rotation on my Walkman at the time. Together with 808 State, and all those early electronica acts.

    I love the Orb!

 Lee Scratch Perry & The Orb - The Orbserver In The Star House (2012)
I used a lot fluffy clouds for my FX projects. By the early 2000´s I got into video and that was a staple for inspiration.

I listened a lot KLF too, the train thing specially from an online radio from San Francisco dedicated to ambient while writing reaching the point in that track (TONS of memories attached to it!)
Thanks a lot for bringing it !
By that time I was into Ambient, Goth, DnB and Future Music demos too following them month by month ;)
I felt in love with "certain" Richie Hawtin (Plastikman)Many people dislike this artist but he had a point...I think

I've been trying for years to remember a track from that era that started with a cockerel crowing like this one
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wiz7SQrI4GI

I always thought it was early 808 state, or perhaps early Shamen? But I can't find it.

    Cheers!

I remember it as a completely different mix, though. Faster and more melodic. But it must be it because the rooster and the jet at the end is there. :dunno:

If I remember correctly it was released as an EP with different versions of it. I can't tell anymore since I had it on a good old TDK-60 cassette which in the end got all mangled up in my tapedeck ;)

    Boredom statistics in fact.

And some intense mornings with Dead Kennedys.
Pretty mainstream if you like but lovely for starting a shouty morning

I think that H. R. Giger was one of their fans;)
Not sure if Ridley Scott and the film industry has been that beneficial for the dark art of H. R. Giger(yes for his fame and pocket!)
revealing all those close-ups of the digestive-sexual organs of all the possible aliens along decades of alien sequels and films alike
…in a point a bit of a cliché because the repetition of the visual stab in the same scene.

Then when drunk...why not this Joy Division piece of poetry

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_NggH3O90o

This is a crisis I knew had to come,
    Destroying the balance I'd kept.
    Doubting, unsettling and turning around,
    Wondering what will come next.
Is this the role that you wanted to live?
I was foolish to ask for so much.
Without the protection and infancy's guard,
It all falls apart at first touch.

Watching the reel as it comes to a close,
    Brutally taking it's time,
People who change for no reason at all,
It's happening all of the time.
Can I go on with this train of events?
    Disturbing and purging my mind,
Back out of my duties, when all's said and done,
I know that I'll lose every time.

Moving along in our God given ways,
Safety is sat by the fire,
    Sanctuary from these feverish smiles,
Left with a mark on the door,
Is this the gift that I wanted to give?
Forgive and forget's what they teach,
Or pass through the deserts and wastelands once more,
And watch as they drop by the beach.

This is the crisis I knew had to come,
    Destroying the balance I'd kept,
Turning around to the next set of lives,
    Wondering what will come next.

The more I listen to it though the more I think it is the right track. My brain just mixed it up with other tunes from the time. I heard it on Peel's show, perhaps it was a demo.

Bill Drummond also owns an old tower in Ireland, Cushendall Curfew Tower, which he converted into an artists' residence. There was a funny story about how he got it, but I can't remember it

Artists that get invited there, spend a week in the tower and have to create a work of art during their stay. Like Noise Heat Power, (Damon Fairclough) who wrote all about it:
