It's interesting. But please don't be offended when I ask you why you would share this when you've barely started? It's almost the equivalent of a guitarist strumming one chord and asking "what do you think of my new song so far?"

 

If you noticed carefully, the 808 was messed up. I disabled max polyphony limit. Added Limiter on master and just tried to improve the stereo field (wider sound)

It makes a great piece for a spooky cinematic trailer. But even at the one minute mark the sine lead needs to develop or change or slowly crossfade into another section. Use a new sound an octave down and have the same melody descending on the same notes instead of rising. Drag them on the piano roll.

I listened to the new beat link you put up. I'm actually liking the vibe of it. I think maybe adding a filter sweep for the chorus would be dope but that's all personal taste.

The bass is off. Tonic is Ab and the alternating chord seems to be Dbm. So focus on getting that right and don't over-complicate it. Now it's all over the place.

 

Sorry to say, the project is lost only mp3 is available. I deleted Omnisphere as it was too slow on my HDD

Thank you I think I forgot to tune the 808 to key

 

Use a synth and make it easier for yourself. Then you can play it and know/see the notes in the pianoroll (and transpose it an octave or two up in order to hear it better during the writing process). Layer it with a kick.

Are serum 808 presets as good annd unique sounding as samples?
