Best VSTi for that Nile Rodgers style clean guitar sound & playing style?

    Hi

Don't get mad if you are a guitar player but I am not so a VSTi works best for me :)

As the title says, I am looking for a VSTi that can produce that Nile Rodgers style funk/disco guitar which is widely known as a very clean sounding 1960 Stratocaster with a 1959 neck.

I need to be able to program the notes or licks/phrases/articulations by midi.

I have tried Scarbee Funk Guitarist and Orange Tree Evolution Stratosphere but they just do not have the right sound or can not be programmed to sound right.

I know Ample Sound have brought out a Funk extension for their Stratocaster VSTi, the Ample Guitar F II, but having been burned on buying the other two I can not afford to buy the Ample Guitar F II & the Funk extension unless it will 100% give me what I am looking for.

    Any suggestions would be great?

    Thanks

use helix or similar on the ones you tried already. theres nothing like actual guitar fx to make a tone.

That is easy, so easy. Kidnap Nile and make sure that you have a nice supply of Earl Grey Tea. He will play.

Not necessary to the sound. I can get it out various cheap guitars.

Since you admitted you know nothing about guitars, it would be cheaper to hire a moderately learned guitarist to lay the track. Reason is, you have no clue how to write a midi track for the rhythm, and if you did know, it would be difficult at best. It would turn out mostly shitty.
Other than hiring a guitarist, and blowing a wad on guitar vst's, I suggest looking at the Big Fish Audio samples for funk. The tones and rhythm is true to the sound. You could manipulate the tempo and key in most cases. If you really don't know how to play an instrument, or know it's articulations, etc, It will never sound real by creating midi on a keyboard or other midi device, unless you are an expert on midi creations and the vst you are using. Even then, it would still come off as digital BS. Good luck.

Yes, I think Ample Guitar F II (soon to be version 3, free update for owners) & the Funk extension will give you what you require.

You're asking for the impossible
But still too generous of you to say that. This is what you get for being polite in this matter:
It's almost moving the "good luck" end, I thought he was gonna send you to hell :hahaha:

I haven't tried the Ample Sound Fender but they usually are the best when it comes to MIDI programming.

There's also the new Shreddage 3 Strat with two three pickup positions, a bit heavy in resources but for being a Kontakt one quite fancy in features.

Programming guitar is damn hard. I recommend you to find a guitarist. There are people on Fiverr that will play for 5$
    https://www.fiverr.com/search/gigs?...e-type=suggest&search-autocomplete-position=1

Otherwise, use Ample sound. That's the only VSTi which tries to be good.

Amazing channel, the best for learning to program (or play live with keyboard) VST guitars. Hands down.

Well, that's true. But the productivity and features of Ample Sound guitar plugins for MIDI programming are unmatched. And performance. It's not Shreddage's fault (Kontakt limits).
It's Ample Sound dedicated VSTi merit. It's so good I'd use it even for prototyping only. If I had to develop a midi plugin I'd do a an Ample Sound to Shreddage MIDI translator/remapper.

Not to mention this upcoming funk expansion. No questions about what I'd advice.

To be honest, his reply was never about Shreddage Stratus. That was an excuse. He accidentally criticized a very good Strat VST in the process, that's all.
