Firstly I'm an FL user, however this video is quite groundbreaking to me as it's the first time (that I know of) a 'major' artist has done anything of this nature...The video is essentially a screen cap of his Live session. Enjoy

EDIT: It's from an EP Called 'Show Tracks' here's another for you

He's not clipping but appears to come in at -4db which is still too narrow for mere mortals to pull off. a tiny piece of the puzzle on how he manages to dislocate neckbones through speakers..

edit: oh you meant clipper clipping, my B

To be honest when i first started out i wouldn't care about gain staging and would rather clip the master fader to get what i wanted and was getting better record deals/contracts then now with my ultra anal precise mastering chain. He clips a lot you can hear in 'his' sound the moral of the story is, create music and forget about technical aspects cause what matters is the end result and not what one used to get there. Just my 2cents.

WHat's hilarious is that no one has remarked how horrible his session sounds.
Why would any artist aspire to sound that bad ? talking about his mix not his song arrangment, before people get huffypuffy.

sounds shit, nothing original, auto-tuned to hell. very very amateurish, no wonder he is famous by today's standards.

he is just making his thing and was in right place with his dubstep while the dubstep explosion...
so he had a lot of hype causing also from begining of reese basses and jungle dnb basses...but the masses didnt kno this music..so the masses think he is such a monster....

The man has great work ethic and is super super talented, love him or hate him. I respect him waaaay more than alot of people on here that just horde crap but I have yet to hear a single track from them...

As gyro said, he doesn't waste time hording, still has the old tools and uses them well, focus on productivity...

As for his master clipping, his music does have audible audio distortion, but because his stuff is so bassy, he gets away with that big, ruined sound...

It's not old Ozone but Insight.
What do you know about that,if he's hording or not? From what I hear and from what I see he uses Serum a lot that isn't very old, same thing for iZotope Insight and Fabfilter Pro-L2.

And when you use a limiter with more than 16 dB of gain reduction, you're not the finest mix engineer, sorry. And you don't need to be CLA or any seasonned engineer to say that.

But I must admit he's good to find melodies, his music has a lot of personnality, that is a great attribute for an artist.

I like his style and sound!! It's always interesting to see other producers' sessions.

It's much better than Alan Walker getting exposed by his ghost producer

this doesn't look like a ' live session'. it's someone playing back a track through ableton.
    not so special...
