    I am on MacBook Pro / Mojave and have some problems adding libraries in Kontakt.
    I have installed Kontakt 5.6.0 (for adding libraries) and Kontakt 6.

    When i add a library in Kontakt 5.6.0 i.e Gravity the library is being added and shows up in the libraries tab and i can load patches. But when i close and restart Kontakt 5.6.0 its not there anymore. Like its not being saved or something.
    Anyone knows how this can be solved?

    Well. First off any reason your using 5.6 for besides adding library? If not def upgrade.
    But I would try to get a new Add lib program. i know the one i have is very very stable shoot me a pm. Or infact i think I got it from the sister site.

    Well, no special reason, i just downloaded the latest Kontakt 6.1.1 and this install came with K 5.6.0 for adding purpose. Ive actually managed to add Spitfire Percussion which stays in the library tab upon restart. Pretty sure its because that library does not have a nicnt file but an nkx instead.
    But all other libraries i try too add (with a nicnt file) just disappears upon restart.

    By the way im pretty newbie when it comes to Mac OS, i have been using windows most of my life.

    I am going through the same issue...

    I have Mac 10.12.6 installed...
    I installed Kontakt 5.6 and 6.1.1.
    I add library on 5.6 but when i close it and reopen it, the library is gone. In service center folder there is not any xml file.
    I tried to add the xml file manually and still doesnt show when i open kontakt 5.6.
    I havent even tried 6.1.1 yet...lol

    Please help. Been a couple of days of reading forum notes with no solution that works for me.
    Thanks!

    Could be that the library isn't supposed by 5.6. what I notice is that any libabry that isn't supported by 5.6 or later will disappear from the tabs but will be there on 6

    To add most new libraries that I've seen are now 5.8 and up compatible however you can still add libraries with 5.6 no problem

    Why would you need 5.8 if you already have 6?

    Because it is believed that you cant add libraries in 6. right?

    That's corrects. That's why you have 5.6 to add only and use 6 to use the instrument

Not showing on 6.1.1 either. I even tried to create the xml file my self and it still wont show up. after a restart of kontakt. Please some one help.

    Okay try this. Add the library on 5.6 and go-to service center to see if an xml file was generated. If there is, copy the xml file to your desktop and close close 5.6. Then add the xml file that's on your desktop to your service center then open 6. See if that works.

    Got it working... Was looking at Library/NI/service center folder and not "use"/library/NI/service center. Btw, it does NOT create the file automatic. It keeps doing a desktop temp file. So i converted it to xml and placed it in the right folder. It sucks that I have to manually do it every time but its better then nothing!

    Great. I was just about to ask if you get a temp file. In that case all you need to do is change the temp file directory to .xml and place it in your service center and you should be good.

    Is there a reason why for some the xml file gets created the right way and for others like myself we get a temp file?

    I'm not exactly sure why that is because I was in the same boat as you in the past until I figured it out myself. It could be many factors but now I don't get any temp files and everything works like it's supposed to. Come to think of it I was probably on Maverick or el Capitan but since I'm now on high Sierra everything seems to be working fine.

    Hello guys, can't get it to work for a library (West Africa) even after adding .xml file to `/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Center`, any idea/advice? Thank u!

    West Africa is an old library, created for Kontakt 4.2.2
    It has an .nkx (and its .nkc cache file with it), you don't need to create an .nicnt file for it.
    If Kontakt doesn't create the .xml file for some permission issue in Service Center, the .xml file that you try to create by your own must have this content.
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ProductHints>
       <Product>
          <Name>West Africa</Name>
          <Company>Native Instruments GmbH</Company>
          <AuthSystem>RAS2</AuthSystem>
          <SNPID>433</SNPID>
          <Icon>koresound</Icon>
          <RegKey>West Africa</RegKey>
       </Product>
    </ProductHints>
    But for some reason, the created .xml by Kontakt here is named West Africa 1.xml
