    from my own experience, nowadays it takes significantly less time to setup flawless working hackintosh compared to flawless working Windows 10;
    professionality is subjective term - I would definitely not use hackintosh in enterprise sector, as it's NOT legal to use MacOS on non-Apple hardware; but if you mean high-end experience, then definitely yes hackintosh is not inferior in any way and decent specced rig can compete with upcoming Mac Pro 2019 for sure
    I've been testing out various hackintoshes past years, so ask what you wanna know...

    Ive worked with it a couple of periods of time in my setup, I stopped doing it.

    its worth only if you must have osx by some reason and if you are not going to keep updating and chasing new bells and whistles in with every new update release from apple, just have the same install for a longer period of time, a couple of years at least.

    then its "ok". but you will most probably run into potentially serious problems that can possibly break your system now and then. that happens with any OS but its a thousand times more time consuming with a hackintosh.

    Thank you EddieXx!That`s a good point!It`s just that I was always working with mac, but my Macpro died last year, so -in terms of hardware and money you would have to spend, I decided to buy a PC, of course Logic is a point, even if I love Cubase and Studio one, and I would love to keep the "running system " as long as it is running-I would not make big changes or updates...so I would love to try,- of course I would love to get some help-if s.o. feels like :)

    depends on point of view;
    with hackintosh there are no artificial limitations, having multiple drives means you can clone system drive and upgrade separately,
    even AMD cpus can be used for hackintoshing, for audio production everyone uses some dedicated audio interface and controllers, which mostly have MacOS drivers available at manufacturer websites, or are class-compliant (no drivers required), in fact in MacOS there are less problems with device drivers than Windows;
    unlike Windows 10, there is nothing to become broken because there are no forced major updates, I haven't had a hiccup since I upgraded my hackintosh from El Capitan to High Sierra, can't say the same for upgrading Windows 10 every half year to new release;
    for regular Mac user, hackintosh can be intimidating and time consuming at first, but I wouldn't say it's more tricky than any Linux distro or Windows to set up - obviously some devices and software may be incompatible with chosen platform, but that again applies to Windows and Linux too, not just MacOS;

    if you decided not to buy Mac again, then desktop PC is indeed most versatile choice - afterall you can install Windows on another drive and have both MacOS and Windows ready to use;
    I'm primarily using Reaper, because I enjoy its simplicity, stability and multiplatform compatibility, if you're on Logic and your older projects accessible, then you need MacOS, and eventually you may need ability to install older Logic version and older MacOS maybe - again something hackintosh can provide, but new genuine Mac cannot;
    regarding hardware purchase choices, definitely keep an eye on tonymac forums and guides, but also try to "copy" some current real Mac specs so your hackintosh would be easy to set up (for ex. my X99-based rig hardware was never a real Mac, so I need to use some generic drivers/kexts and definitions, which wasn't working out of the box the way I wanted...but didn't take long to set up either);
    any serious workstation should by definition be prioritized by stability and reliability, not keeping up-to-date on latest system and software - which I'd say hackintosh can provide better than Windows right now...

    Actually I find it easier to maintain , backup a Hackintosh than keeping Windows working properly.

    Or if you want to use macOS

    Make a TimeMachine backup when everything is installed, have a Windows system near by, and know someone with deeper Hackintosh knowledge when things go sour. ..to keep it funky!

    as a general rule, I recommend using Carbon Copy Cloner to make 1:1 backups (even during use of MacOS, it's really neat utility),
    AND, make at least one or two additional usb stick bootloaders (I assume you'll be using Clover) so you can tinker with anything anytime without making your hackintosh unbootable

    I've been a Hackintosh User eversince my MacBook pro broke down in 2013/14.

    I use it for professional sound design, music production and audio engineering work. And it works flawlessly. I actually can't remember when it crashed on me the last time.

    The key to a great working hackintosh is not only getting the right components but also finding a good forum thread for your board which is well maintained by somebody who is at least more than just a user, so you can get support.

    Because the thing is: if the initial install works you're 99 per cent there. But if yiu are having problems getting the initial setup to work, that's when you nees to be able to ask questions which can be answered by people who really know how the board and the chipset works.

    My first tipp: stay away from Nvidia Graphics cards for any OS newer than macOs Sierra. Apple removed the support for Mojave and Catalina. No drivers are available. I need to switch to AMD soon

    "Professionally" is the person, not the tool... Mac, Win or Linux... depend on your creativity and knowledge...

    I have a working Asus Rog gaming laptop hackintosh. It was a bit of a struggle at first but once it was up and running I was so happy. It's still running strong and would recommend.

    she has some great videos, but I noticed some mistakes and misconceptions in her videos too (maybe older videos, can't remember), so never take her as sole source of ultimate truth regarding hackintoshing

    Hey guys, I `ve got it running!So far everything works, Logic,Cubase..usb, ethernet, etc...took quite a while, I have to say, and still-I think I did s.th. wrong by installing some wrong drivers, `cause the boot takes almost 5 minutes-haha...so I would still have to tweak...maybe someone here can help me adjusting?I thank you for your opinions!..and, when it booted- the thing is fast!!!!Have a great sunday!!!!
    All is working flawlessly...:)
