It appears that the folder structure is deeper than Reaper 5 can find unless you add the parent sub-folder to the directories to be scanned.

example of installed structure:
Y:\Plugins\VST\Flux\SoleraV3.vst\contents\x64\SoleraV3.dll

Reaper preferences:

 

According to your picture you haven't added Y:\Plugins\VST but Y:\PluginsVST

You do have added Y:\Plugins\VSTi so I think is an accidental mistake that happens to all of us.

 

Look closer my friend... Y:\Plugins\VST + Y:\Plugins\VSTi + Y:\Plugins\VST\Flux (at the end of the string thus far).

This my actual plugin setup. Experimenting on relocation of VST3 without the linking topology that is not 100% and, may get phased out by Microsoft. May be switching to Linux anyway.

Side note: Windows performs better inside Linux through VM.

You are right! I must have typed in the wrong designation when I redid everything. Should have used the add button & gone searching I guess. It did not work the first tom though when it was correct. All other plugins worked before the edit. Flux worked after the edit.

Find one that feels like a good fit. Do you want complex or easy?

I've a lot of experience doing the opposite (Windows hosting Linux VM) due to my work, web developer. But besides being Linux, it's a server one (no windows system) so I was curious.
Yeah, Debian is light on the RAM but a major PITA to tweak. Ubuntu a bit more bloated but sweet.

I believe that Linux has finally become stable enough to use on a day-to-day basis. For all levels including networking.
Ubuntu Server is the goto but other kernels can be tweaked to your systems needs.
