What a great song! More synth-pop. Great transition and fusion from Joy Division to New Order. Considered to be one of the best selling 12 inch single of all time.

Electro movement. Another one of Juan Atkins' great contributions to electronic dance music. Clear by Cybotron. This song is considered a precursor to Detroit Techno as we know it today.

yeah, great post. Juan Atkins , the godfather of techno, part of belleville 3 & longterm-workingtogether with Moritz von Oswald (Basic Channel). Sharp producers. Within this tune, the electro/breakdance style was kind of a melting pot , in which early Hiphop & early techno are both located at the same time in 1 tune.

U killin me, @The Pirate ! Golden tune, totally new 2 me. Enjoy the superloose selfplayed groove & noisy tape saturated dope lofi sound. Try Do something like that with a daw, u are lost for years, not even coming close. And back then those guys maybe tried to sound as on point as its possible. Time is a crazy thing. Crazy nice tune, thank you! From which year this one is?

Edit : searched for that tune in streaming portal and found this, done in a daw i guess, not bad but not that funky

@Retrolize77 We cant overlook the influence and impact in today's music of Afrika Bambataa and Soul Sonic Force's Planet Rock. Arthur Baker is a musical genius. So is J. Robie.

    Hard tune, to the core!!
Interesting like such dominator alike sounds began in the 90‘s, those loud quirky sounds with chorus/chord style, and how they evolute during happy hardcore/ hardtrance to the nowadays edm sound. Never really a fan of it, in no century. But this Mescslinum tune made it a serious situation, ruff, not clean as nowadays, which i would prefer

Would be cool to have specialist in d&b evolution in here, highlighting tunes leading the genre from breakbeat to jungle to 2-step, techstep, dunno what else. Whats up @Smoove Grooves ?

Hardcore never dies :winker: Still standing strong and it's almost 30 years ago.

Yep, and made by Maarten Vorwerk wo already made a name for himself in the 00's with his Jump records (Ruthless & Vorwerk, Jeckyll & Hyde). So in a way, Jump kicks evolved into Big Room.

Talking about Jump, although it became famous in Belgium late 90's (through Da Boy Tommy for example), Mark V & Poogie Bear started it around 1997. Have to look up which tracks but War and Ants In Da Pants come to mind.

Small step also to the first reverse bass and 'beginning' of (early) hardstyle: Hennes & Cold - First Step, 1998
