im using FL 20 and i tried exporting my drum pattern but the mp3 has a huge amount of nothingness
( i even tried wav and I had the same issue ) it also has a little delay that doesn't match the drums and sounds pretty trash
could you please help me with the export setting cause i exported the song and it had about 2minutes of nothingness after the beat finishes too ! i tried playing with the Tail options but got no answer and also all of my tracks were on...SOS
-just found out that there was a limiter on my master that was fuckin the sound up and making it sound trash and my Wav export has no problem but my Mp3 has a little delay in the beginning of export

Set your in/out markers correctly.
Why exporting to 128kbps mp3? It's crap. Try 320kbps.
I think all mp3 format has a slight delay/offset due to the conversion. But as you don't use this lossy format in production it doesn't matter if it's offset.

No, that is Plugin Delay Compensation. Different thing. I recall all mp3 exports are offset. Don't worry about it.

 

Could you elaborate a little? I haven't used MP3 since the days of like Napster and Kazaa probably, way before I was involved in audio stuff but I'm curious what this means.

A delay/offset, as in, you'd get some amount of dead air at the beginning of a rendered track?

 

Yes, there is a 25ms silence/offset at the start of every rendered mp3 (IIRC). My guess is that this 25ms is to avoid "ramping" on some players, which adds some attack to avoid clicks.
