That's pretty much what I do. I still use my (half) trusted v1709 and the last updates I installed were the early march ones.
I'm the first tempted to try pretty much everything new but it's been too much beatings over the years, even I learned from that lol

Been there tons of times. A month is enough to lose quite a few time. The solution it that works best for me is to have on my a second "Fun" Windows partition.
When I try a new Windows or complex soft (Visual Studio, some Adobe warez,..) all goes to the "fun" one.
I force myself to keep my "work/serious" partition out of it.
And I can never get enough system backups. Double partition also helps with that.

Hey, now that I think of it, I could rename my work partition to Windows XLTSB (Xupito LTSB) edition

I have contacted Windows to make them aware of the problem. Please contact Microsoft Feedback Hub App and describe your issues here:

Okay both, storport.sys is related to hard disks what kind of hard disks do you have? wdf1000.sys should not be a problem but maybe it shows as a problem because of the storport.sys problem

often I had a problem: when I'm playing, or listening, or recording, I suddenly have a little jump/stutter/hole in the audio, a pop, crackle, or what it is. if I'm listening, it only jumps for a microsecond, so no problem. if I'm playing, I have a little stop during performance. but if I'm recording, it stops recording.

yesterday I ran a LatencyMon test for 2h45 circa. I was in the other room, so the PC was doing nothing. audio interface connected and on. only thing that happened, was screen suspending (it was in high performance mode of course, but don't know how I forgot to turn of screen suspension. now it's turned off).

results: great performance for a long time, then suddenly something happened and latencymon jumped to red (maximum badness!) and showed storport.sys at 100 ms or something similar (I have the log, I can share if in need).

today I updated some drivers (but they were already updated one month ago or so, so I don't think this was the problem), opened Cubase, Keyscape and LatencyMon. started a test and started playing. now I have great performance always, no problems. only now and then, during playing, I have a micro crackle, difficult to feel. maybe it's because latencymon is running during playback?

result: storport.sys do not give me problems anymore, o at least, in this session. next days I'll test again. changed audio interface cable, let's see if the first problem will occur again.

    my storage:

WD NVMe 250gb for software, plugin, important libraries (keyscape)
Crucial MX500 500gb for less important libs and projects
Seagate Barracuda 500gb (very old) for storage that does not pertain to music

A couple of things I suggest you do:
    1) Update motherboard to latest bios
    2) Update Realtek audio driver from your motherboard support downloads
    3) Open Device manager and right click on all you hard drives and update the driver
    4) One last thing you can do is to disable all hard drives in device manager except your C drive and test your system for latency. If the issue is gone enable one disk at a time and take a new test.

I have the current refgular build, and did the following:

    • Hyperthreading
    • Syncing Core Speed
    • EIST disabled
    • C States
    • Turbo Boost

Without those setting I get clicks and pops, tiny glitches.
And even yet I get sometimes very subtile glitches.

Anyone got an AMD Radeon Graphicscard here ? I experience some slow redrawing when selecting multiple reagions in studio one. I woder if it is AMD related.
Under macOS same Hardware, i dont get theses glitches and redraw issue. The only odd thing under macOS is that chnaing the height of teh mixer is laggy.

I use an AMD Sapphire Nitro RX480. It gives me problems during playback on Cubase or during me playing some VSTi's: for example, in Keyscape, if I have the GUI open and playing back, volume meters are not fluid, it doen's flows, like an FPS reduction. same thing perfomance meter in Cubase. Do you have this too?

It says that classpnp.sys is a SCSI class system driver [plug and play for drives?], meaning Microsoft fucked up somewhere with the Windows storage system drivers. But there's also some kernel issue. Which doesn't surprise me. I don't think you can mend it with anything but another Microsoft update for the issue, or go back an update... however, if I was using it, I would try updating storage drivers, if there is something newer. e.g. SATA driver, RAID driver, possibly chipset drivers - newest Intel "inf".

    Cheers! Have fun!
