I don't see such a tragedy here. In fact, as you can see there is no official release of S1 from any of the teams. Just a speculation, but people often attribute dev's bugs to "bad cracks".. so from R2R's perspective - I would first wait for Presonus to sort their own problems before putting the badge on it. That's also the main difference between the Teams. V.R doesn't care so much.. Anyway they are all winners in my book!

And here I want to say a big thank you(!) to all guys/gals helping here. @GT33, @The Pirate, @mono.. Till this day the Presonus support didn't came up with solutions, as elegant as you offered, to their own 4.5 bugs, lol (and I'm a S1 fan..;))

 

Okay, stop playing bullshit now; the "secret" is not a secret (if you have a brain).
So here we go...

For PC user:
1. Download and install the latest R2R release: "PreSonus Studio One 4 Professional v4.1.4 Incl Patched and Keygen-R2R";
3. Copy "Studio One.exe" (found in C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 4) and paste it into a new folder;
4. Uninstall the R2R release;
5. Download and install Compare It! v4.2;
6. Download and install Studio One v4.5.0 demo version from Presonus website;
7. Copy "Studio One.exe" (found in C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 4) and paste it into a new folder;
7. Open "Studio One.exe" from R2R with Compare It! (right click on "Studio One.exe" => Compare file #1 and Compare file #2);
8. Open "Studio One.exe" from the demo version with Compare It! (right click on "Studio One.exe" => Compare file #1 and Compare file #2);
8. In "Studio One.exe" from R2R, search for first and third "7F 8A 99 E7 E2", then copy the patched binaries until "00 00 00 00 22" (first) and "B8 13 A7 B0 0B" (third) and paste them in the demo "Studio One.exe", overwriting the original binaries (there is 16 or 17 lines to copy/paste);
9. Save;
10. Copy/paste "Studio One.exe" patched from demo to C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 4, overwriting the previous one;
11. If it's a fresh install, then you can use R2R keygen to generate a valid license, otherwise your actual license is still valid;
12. Enjoy.

For Mac users:
Same as for PC users, except that you have to find the file "studioapp" in R2R patched version and the same file in the demo version (PreSonus Studio One 4.dmg\PreSonus Studio One 4\Studio One 4.app\Contents\MacOS\studioapp);
Then in the R2R version you have to search for second and third "7F 8A 99 E7 E2", then copy the patched binaries until "B8 13 A7 B0 0B" (second) and "00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00" (third) and paste them in the demo one, overwriting the original binaries.

The windows version has been available on private audio trackers the same day of official 4.5 release. Not an official R2R version, but it
works fine.

It is not about availability - it is about policy (and respect).

 

It's always interesting to see how different DAW developers handle copy protection in a different way. Cubase and FL Studio try everything to make it as hard as possible. Others, not so much. Seems to be simple (relatively speaking, I mean for a non-cracker) to make the workaround of a previous version work for a new one for Studio One. I guess I'm glad they're not wasting their time for more copy protection that would end up making the legit customer experience more miserable than it has to be, but I'm left wondering how come the approaches are so different between developers.

I tested this on Win10 with 4.5 and it works perfectly. All the original functionality of S1X without messing up any of the new features in the update.

I don't know anything about Mac; I've just done a simple hex comparison with my PC and Compare It! in "View as > Binary" mode.

I'm pretty sure there are some good alternatives to Compare It! but for Mac...

BTW, it was not a "hard work" at all. In fact, it was so simple that without knowing absolutely nothing about reversing or even programing, I was able to reproduce my first "R2R patching scheme" years ago in less than 10 minutes. So I guess you will also succeed.

I guess it's the same in all the languages. In Spain we say "A caballo regalado no le mires el dentado" ("dentado" is archaic only to make it rhyme). In Catalonia "A cavall donat no li miris el dentat" ("donat" means "given", so pretty much the same)

As I've wrote in my previous post, you have to open the SAME exe twice in ONE instance of Compare It!
Start by selecting TWICE "Studio One.exe" from latest R2R release (CI will ask "Are you sure, bla bla...", click YES).
Usually CI will display 2 IDENTICAL tables (left and right) in Binary view (otherwise select Menu>View>View as>Binary).
Then select Menu>Edit>Find. In the Find tab, click on "Hex string" and "Case sensitive" and copy/paste "7F 8A 99 E7 E2" in the search field.
Click on "Find Next" and the string "7F 8A 99 E7 E2" will appear selected in the left table.
Select ALL BINARIES from "7F 8A 99 E7 E2" (included) until "00 00 00 00 22" (included) - there are 16 or 17 lines to select -, then press Ctrl+C to copy those binaries in clipboard.
On another instance of CI, inside which you have of course previously opened "Studio One.exe" from the demo version, do the same... but once you will find "7F 8A 99 E7 E2" DO NOT select binaries from there BUT FROM "00 00 00 00 22" (super important!!!) until "7F 8A 99 E7 E2" (both included).
Then press Ctrl+v to paste.
If you've done it well, the selected binaries of R2R's version have now replaced those of the demo version.
Do the same with the third "7F 8A 99 E7 E2" (this time until "B8 13 A7 B0 0B") and click Save.
Done.

Note for Mac users: The binary scheme is slightly different (read my previous posts). For the rest, since Compare It! is not available for Mac, you will have to find another hex editor. But as you're smarter than us, poor PC users, I'm sure you will find a better way to do... The Job(s)... (as Steve)

i used to be so glad to see releases on zippy and have gotten hundreds of gigs there but since they started blocking some countries its a sad situation.

So is 4.5 available somewhere? lol !!!! I've been reading all the posts and checking the site for it to appear but have yet to see it. I have patience and I'm willing to wait (for R2R or whoever cracks) but the post on AS stated R2R won't upload here? Would love it but just a little fearful to try Revenants way even though I appreciate his post on how to do it from the demo version : )
