They’ll probably do it better than Yamaha’s reissue. And at a fraction of the cost.

I'm so glad at least somebody understood that it is simply atrocious not to use today's quality electronic components to make purely analogue synths. I'm looking at you Roland with all that digital DSP plastic crap you released, that is not much better than a plugin. Analogue electronic components are smaller and of much better quality these days than in the 70s and 80s. Maybe they could also sell kits for some of the synths? My soldering iron is corroding.

  5. My user requirement: one person only can pick it up. $999.

And we're going to need DAW manufacturers to start supporting the Poly Pressure MIDI message. Properly.

For a while now I have been thinking of having a hard synth in addition to a controller/computer/softsynth combo for that visual/tactile/analogue audio-eroticism only a hard synth in the hand can get me off with. I never really liked the rackmount experience and if this comes in at a price point that won't have my partner threatening physical or psychic violence I would definately go for this. Since coming into my purview, Deckard's Dream has been a phantasy of mine to have and to hold, but the four grand plus price tag just doesn't warrant a realistic outcome. If you haven't heard it, check it out...

I don't know how many of us can afford to have an iconic Yamaha CS80 ($20k), or a real vintage Minimoog Model D ($3500): for everytone else (like me) there is Behringer. Maybe it won't be the same thing, but in this case there is no room for snobbery: we need pragmatism.
It happened before in history with dinosaur extinction or the fall of the Roman Empire: I believe that all this is part of Darwin's theory

The Deckard Dream will remain, as its name suggest, only a dream for most of us due to its price tag.
Hopefully, Behringer is able to approach that level of, shall we say, awesomeness at a decent price this time.

    1. I am happy using my copy of the Synapse Audio Legend for the Moog thing, the DS-80 would satisfy another itch...and in my little land there are no Deep Mind 12 synths that I have seen in the used market as of yet. My next purchase, possibly, from Music Group, will be a Klark-Teknik KT-2A which new I can bring home for 290 Euros; nobody has sold a previously owned one that I have seen. Fucking Music Group, you can't kill them and you can't eat them. It would be my first buy from them and I kind of dislike myself for it.

If you think that a company that has NEVER could create a proper equaliser, delay or any other stuff now is capable to make a quality clone of an analog synth then you have no clue or you have reached the level of mediocrity.

This looks amazing! I'm waiting for a Sequential Circuits Prophet 10 clone though.
