Atari St 1040. After ( more like besides) that IBM 486 DXII

 

This was the first computer I ever had. I used to play The Last Ninja on this thing to death.

 

The CMI Fairlight, NED Synclavier and Kurzweil K250 were also available around the same time but costing way more than the E-MU's if I'm not mistaken.

 

My first computer was more a programmable calculator Casio FX502P. My first real one was in 1981, it was an Apple ][+ with a 128KB 5 1/4'' floppy Disk drive . ATM it's mothballed until resurrection (2081?)

Not technically a computer but I owned this before I owned any actual computer:

 

My first computer was Dell Pentium 2 running at 800MHz. I still have it in my garage

 

i guess it was a 8086 10mhz 512kb memory and a 20mb harddrive and it was not mine but
my stepfathers pc

 

Roland W-30, not a computer, but that is how I learned to sequence. First comp was a 386 20Mhz, 4 mb ram.

 

My first computer was Commodore 64 in 1984. And I was proud to be able to code a very simple piano player software in it. But most of the time I used it to play games (from tape).
I knew ZX Spectrum from school but it didn't impress me when the software that was running on it had the task to fill the screen randomly pixel by pixel (from black to white or the opposite), that was so ridiculous, I was glad to own C64 instead.

Just a sidenote for the OP's inicial post, in the soviet era you couldn't get much of the western tech due to the embargo, called COCOM list that controlled (limited or prohibited) these advanced tech. For some reason C64 got the green light.

my 1st computer was a Atari 800 (WITHOUT XL)
then an Atari 1040 ST and a yamaha dx7
next was a Amiga 1000 and for the Amiga i have written some realtime synthesizers for game production and scene Demos (i was a member of Scoopex).
Later i have written 2 Tracker like DAW's named Synthesis 4.2 and Sonic Arranger. That Software was inspired by Ultimate Soundtracker, written by my friend Karsten Obarski....
The sonic Arranger was released as bookware in the 90's.

u can still use my Sonic Arranger with winUAE to see my Magic
it was Possible to create Music with a size of only 5Kb (and this includes not only the Notation and Instruments, but also the Replayer !)

Some nice freaks of the Demoscene and some Pros have used the Sonic Arranger for Demos and Games (Thalion was one of them)

Funny Day's that never will come back......
