I've been looking for something like this since some time now, and today it seems i've found the right path thanks to your post

So, thanks a lot for this link which i didn't knew (i've only used VFX sometimes and only to see how some plugins not available for Mac sound). Anyway, i'm downloading right
now all the tools to give it a try, but overcoat because i want to find out if they can be used also to get/send sound and MIDI from/to a winXP Virtual Machine (Parallels) as it
seems it could be possible (there exist also something called ipMIDI (not mentioned in that link) that can be used to send MIDI through a network).

The trick (i don't know if it would be possible) would be to connect the guest (winXP on a Parallels VM) to the host (Mac OSX) through the virtual network card of the VM and then
get/send audio and MIDI to one each other through those tools (that BTW exists for both win and mac). If someone has any suggestion, either to say i'm a naive or to simply say
that it is not possible, will be welcomed.

Again, never tried it, but rtpMidi gets recommended:
    Code:
    http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/rtpmidi.html
    Source:
    Code:
    http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?105445-Midi-from-Mac-to-Parallels-XP-Partition
It seems from above that there is a bug that prevents audio from being send into Parallels. You might have to try something like Wine, or perhaps CrossOver.

    No worries.

MidiPipe is nice too, but no Windows version
    Code:
    http://www.subtlesoft.square7.net/MidiPipe.html
    MIDI Plugins list
    Code:
    http://www.midiplugins.com/default.aspx
If you want to route audio between windows/mac look at Jack
    Code:
    http://jackaudio.org/
