And the SAiNT's name is the law... ;)
There're rules and there's punishment for violation of those rules. SAiNT is the the one to punish. If you have problems with someone's posts, just write a couple of lines to SAiNT. The poll won't going to do anything anyway. It's not a direct democracy here, you know.

Or better yet, write to the troubling poster (in this case Strong Sounds) and discuss your views with him. That'll be the best solution.

    1. First talk to people before they got banned, give them a chance.
    2. Be thankful for what they upload. If you don't like their uploads, just pass them by.
    3. It's up to saint to decide.

Why on earth would anyone want to ban strong sounds when this guy put up tons of good and new stuff?

    What am i missing here?

This forum is about posting up articles and when someone post up stuff people got their finger up their butt? I don't get it :dunno:

New or old SO WHAT! In Strong Sounds case I see a lot of new stuff.

Banning should be outlawed for anyone posting commercial stuff period.

Ban the folks putting up home made kits/garbage.

    Hi Saint

I changed my vote to strict talking to :)

I Got a bit 'lynched' for the topic title! (i guess new members didn't get the irony - apologies to everyone on that)

It was supposed to be a little 'funny/ironic' as well as to raise the debate again.

For everyone else: it was the name of long running poll before,
and afer the debate AudioZ was changed for the better. (the original poll was started by Saint)

I DONT WANT TO BAN ANYONE. (he would just log in with a different ID anyway)

I was just raising the debate with a slight 'tongue in cheek' topic title.

Why am aways in some kind of trouble :) :)

That's NOT completely true! He might never come back again.
With banning some good or less good poster, the community will lost a contributor.
Sometimes forever... I've been banned on a known site for ridiculous reasons, only
because a moderator couldn't see my colored text in the chat! That FORUM has lost
my contributions forever! I never will go back there.

Speaking as someone who hasn't been "collecting" stuff for years on end I find posts of older stuff helpful. Maybe I could search out these things from archived posts but when I've never heard of them in the first place it would make that quite difficult

I think there were two points to this topic. First, the quality of his shares. I think that's up to the users to decide if they want it or not. If you don't want it, don't download it. Pretty simple. I'm assuming some members are just upset that he's posting them sooner than they are.

Second, he ignores the rules for his own gain. This is the part that bothers me. The rules should be enforced or else this place will fall apart.

And wait a minute...did I just read that SAiNT voted YES?

    Hey strong sound

How's it going. Glad your on board with the debate.

I thought you'd see the funny side.

You gotta stop ticking the fresh release button bro.

This is such an excellent debate

I kind of started it a bit 'tongue in cheek' (because it had the same name as Saints orignal Poll about Strong Sound)

definition of tongue in cheek, before i get in any more trouble

but its got some crazy emotional responses.

All I'm saying is Mr SS is up to his old tricks again of filling the AudioZ forum full of crap.

    - has he purchased any of it? - or is it just repackaged the stuff that other people have bought? - does that matter? - is he just a bottom feeder in the piracy food chain? -

I wish we could star rate AudioZ posts

well, I guess it hasn't much to do with a tough crowd...read your first post again...if there is any irony or anything remotely funny in there, man you're a master at concealing it...so no wonder everyone missed it!

now I honestly dont see what's the problem about posting everything on the front page (yeah ...the rules....)...I for one never check any of the other sections, and I'm certainly not the only one...I have other things to do, so I just check out the main page everyday...and in a way I'm glad Strong Sound doesn't abide by the "sacred" rules ...or else I'd probably miss half the posts...besides, if I need something in particular, I just use the search function...well...I really cant see what the fuss is all about.

Maybe a completely clear definition is needed for the term "Fresh release" in order to avoid any speculations, and to properly enforce the rules. Otherwise what's the point of using this rule if anyone could have their own mind of what is to be considered fresh release.

    Ok

    once upon a time.....

Audioz got bogged down loads of 'poop' 'torrent stuff' posts just pages and pages and pages
    from

    Strong Sound
    GonBi
    KROCK

while other GOOD contributors like Discover and Quakeaudio's 'actually fresh posts' got pushed down to about 5 pages back

    --

So Saint the forum owner ran a poll

The poll was called "Should we Ban Strong Sound"

but it later became a metaphor for "should we change something so people stop posting crap on the main page"

an it was decided by some crazy kind of democracy that Saint would spend flipping days doing a new site. and include a 'fresh release' feature so Audioz would look like the great forum it is.

    Fast Forward to Today

    --
Audioz got bogged down loads of 'poop' 'torrent stuff' posts just pages and pages and pages
    from

    Strong Sound
    GonBi
    KROCK

    Piss takers

    --

so i posted a poll of the same topic to start the debate again

Its not really about strong sound

its about interpreting the rules of "not taking the piss"

So we dont have to scroll down 10 pages!!,
AND Audioz look like a page of good stuff to anyone new!!!

    --

I also Appreciate Saint has enough on his plate from the blacklist going on.

    lets see if

    Strong Sound
    GonBi
    KROCK

can hit the blacklist button correctly.....I bet they can.....but they can't hit the fresh release button correctly
