rite now there is only a quod core But as soon as he makes at lest a 12 core i wont buy another mac pro me and tuns of other mac pro users are getting sick of Apple's lack of attention and upgrade ability and high prices of mac pros we have been waiting 3 years for a new mac pro with to date fetchers apple has been lagging behind whenit comes to its professional Music and Video producers so this is a warning to you Apple from me if the new mac pro is not up to date with the time i will Not be buying another mac pro

This is great news for those who would like to run different OSes in an easier way, so you won't have to guess which MBO should be the right one. And the BIOS is Open Source, nice. Great MotherBoard regardless being OS-X compatible or not.

The maker clearly states on his page that its a GIGABYTE motherboard that he had "customized".


Photos show a GA series gigabyte. #1 choice of Hackintosh users for many many years.

YEs.. Apple used to actually sell their ROM CHIPS ! SO you can make your own clone... There were also licensed clones back in the day... all PRE-OSX thou...

I recommend those "out of the box packages" only for people with more money than they have time.
Your purchase will probably include tech support phone number. You will get the same answers from ANYONE using the same model Gigabyte motherboard for their hackintosh thou....

but for the extra cash spent... at least you have an email address or phone number to directly contact someone..... probably...

Dont ask me why broski had the word THUNDERBOLT printed beside the RAM slots ... lol... after the model number would have been the place I would expect to see that...

Lastly you should look further into this before you jump into his kickstarter that failed to sell off their opening inventory

 

virtual machines maybe worth looking at before going for a full hackintosh

 

I would hold out for a little while longer and see if Mac steps up their Pro game. You can always try out what SirSillySausage suggested while you wait.

Virtual Machines are a great tool and I personally have used them many times to repair (and/or install) my actual hackintoshes ;)
