S1 (2.5.1) is a great peace of sw indeed, I'm trying to use it in substitution of cubase 5 on my (quite old) DAW: win 64, core 2duo e3600, 8 GB ram.
The only problem is that one of the most interesting options, transform instruments to audio, brings S1 to crash: the operation starts, but after 2 or 3 seconds of rendering it crashes.
This happens with all the vst instruments I used, (Kontakt based, etc)
I think that the same cause is also at the basis of another strange behaviour, in this case during mixdown exporting. If the "realtime" rendering option is not checked, the final result is an empty file.
Seems that my PC cannot support rendering faster than one to one, if exceeded this realtime value it crashes.
    Anybody experienced similar issue?
    Thanks in advance

works fine here but I am using windows7 32bit 4Gb ram, probably a bug, have you tried searching S1's official forum? S1 although very good, I find does crash quite a lot.

These guys at the Presonus forum have the same issues:
    http://forums.presonus.com/posts/list/35499.page#238060

They think that Transform got broken with 2.5.1 update and recommend to use 2.5 instead till it's fixed.

Go through the post's and read careful to see if you have same issues.

    good luck

Works fine for me, I own S1 pro but as for the problems some have ( I figure it's system related ) S1 is the most stable software in a long time ;)

Thanks to all for the reply.

The guy at Presonus (I already went there and I sign into free forum....) has similar result but really heavier reasons to produce it. First of all he has crashes when unfreezing, I have them when freezing (better saying, transforming instrument to audio); second, he unfreezes groups of tracks, for me the result is on only for a single track.
I agree with you, S1 is really much stable than cubase 5 (I don't know version 7) and it is 64 bit, this is the reason why I insist with it and I would like to solve this issue.
Anyway, do all of you have more powerful workstations? My opinion is that my one (E8600) doesn'y satisfy S1 requirements.....I think that for a windows user, 32 or 64 bits, the minimum is a i5 CPU...

I am pretty sure S1's minimum requirements for a windows users processors.
Is a dual core/ core 2 duo. So yes,
I would try to upgrade your Cpu if possible.
Myself, I am running S1 on Win 7x64 with a first generation i5 - 760 processor with 12 gigs of ram smoothly.

Problem solved....thanx to all repliers, anyway
    Reason?....bad (dumb) user
If you don't own a very strong PC (I bought a new one, anyway)you need to bounce the track before transforming or rendering it.........
I imagine that this can be obvious for many of you, but I never did it with cubase. and I never read this suggestion in any of Presonus tutorials (or I never find.... :dunno:)

In this way rendering reach from 1.5 to 2 time the normal speed and above all......NO CRASHES

And S1 became my main Daw
