heres my latest work - its pure 80s style in modern talking sound
and the vocals here is none other than C.C.Catch
i isolated the vocals (with rx7) from that horrible original music and recreated
that nostalgic sound similar to modern talking style
if you love 80s sound/or that sound from dieter bohlen and louis rodriguez in their studio33
producing awesome tracks in 80s golden era then you will love this

how did you make that 80 snare sound. is it a sample or vst or kit?

 

its from SM101 ,that linn drum was dry so i had to add reverb and tweak it lil bit
so if you want those classic big snare sounds check out linn drum samples pack

there so many snare sounds from the 80s ,try select any snare then apply short reverb first and see what happens
(combine it with normal kick and keep them running in loop ,then extend the reverb effect until it sounds good
then build the bass to go against kick and then add high hats and give it wide fx
,im sure you will achieve that 80s snare with few more attempts
remember to keep them simple (80s sounds means simple highhats/kicks/drums) then add dynamic/eq/reverb to brighten the track/and add compression to glue everything

I need to do a 80’s project soon for someone and looking for sounds, as well as some library of 80’s Synth midi patterns.

I think I have every single CD by Modern Talking, CC Catch, Bad Boys Blue…etc.
That belongs to my “80’s fetish”...lol! They sure had some really cool sound.

Sounds just like mid 80s Europop. I daren't listen to the original, I bet its awful like most modern pop.

 

You can also use a drum vsti (like Addictive) with the appropriate expansion.

 

lol, you are totally right about that
the original version which was made 1988 is totally different than my remix,it was experimented sound itself with strange beat pattern and hiphop loops,
and i didnt like it ..so i had to remix it to basic 80s
this is the original you will see /feel the difference
