I've been fiddling with sound design lately but have a long way to go, I don't spend enough time with it and I'll probably never get very good at it.

So I could really use some help with this. It's not a super advanced sound, I know that, but I'm not able to nail it. Reminds me of a PWM bass. Listen to the beginning of this:

and something similar about one minute into this one:

I'm mostly using Sytrus or Serum these days, many thanks in advance for any help.

And if you love vintage synth music, give Orbital a go, it's just FANTASTIC stuff :) Listen to this:

Here ya go, a simple patch for Serum. It's really that simple, a saw with low unison voices and high detune. Less is more once again.

In the beginning of de first song, there's also a very short "kick" sample layered over the "fart-saw"... This gives the sound that snappy "edge" to it...

Sounds like the analog sound of a C64 SID chip...

Sounds like detuned supersaw, with pitch envelope and portamento.

First, old trick, probably a Taurus with the overdrive trick with the pedal and modulated. You can clearly ear the difference. The other same but a Moog Minitaur.

EDIT: After I listen again the second video and is more a 303. For Orbital - Meltdown some guy in internet say that is a Supernova2. But is absolutely wrong, is a pedal overdrive for sure into a moog, for me is a Taurus or some moog analog bass and some phatty synth polychained. They use a lot MFB Dominion X, probably is this that goes into the pedal overdrive, who knows.

You asked, i replied. Simple as it is. The bass to me has a very farty feel, so that was the first idea that came to mind.

In addition: If its a very juicy fart and you put a bit of bitcrushing on it, it will not give what you asked for put if you pitch that thing down and put a sub under it it can also give very nice farty basses

Well given, your comment history you seem to have a taste for farts.
I would appreciate if you stop doing this sort of useless comments.
One can be humour 10, is simply useless to say the least.

Im sorry. I'll keep my tips for myself in the future. Im just trying to break the standards and develop something 'new' in music, thats why i dont suggest standard things like 'do it with synthesizer XYZ'.. we need to get more creative.

I can understand tho, that the fart approach isn't everyones thing, so yes, i'll leave it in the future.

Ya know... Deadmau5 samples his ass claps. So don’t let somebody with forum powers discourage you from innovating.

And wouldn't an ass clap technically be a single cycle fart wave? So it’s kind of like a fart wavetable...

None of the suggestions brought me even close to that sound (sorry Slaking), I guess I just asked at the wrong site/forum, people are talking about sharts, might as well have asked monkeys to assemble a rocket :) I'll figure it out myself by reverse engineering it.
