waves bundle2.jpg [IMG] I got bored and made some new skins for the waves ssl bundle. I am working on the E & G Channel now and then I'm done. I figured I'd share a screenshot of them and wanted to see what you guys thought. I know some have come before me and did some skins for these but I wanted to do my own design to them and make them look fresh and more up to date. I know the console looks like the old ones but I wanted to put my spin on them. I made some skins last year for Vocal Rider and the DeEsser. So what is your guys feed back??

I like it. I dig the secondary gain reduction meter. I know you said you wanted to make it your own, but, regarding the bus compressor, I kinda wish people made the knobs like the original. Example: https://i.imgur.com/svE6OJv.png I fell in love with the straight up black face plate and the bright blue knobs.

I respect the decision to make it more modern, and you definitely did well to achieve that. I think I just prefer a clean face plate like yours, but knobs like in the screenshot I gave. I also really love the db meters in your eq tbh.

I think it's an improvement, comparing to the releases from Thenatan and Vraanxia, although the last one is an UAD SSL G Series Bus Compressor copy so that doesn't count I guess. Pablinimaxd really nailed the Bus Compressor, for me at least, but the E & G Channel versions are pretty straight forward. So with the above EQ skin in mind there's absolute potential. Your Bus Compressor version reminds me a bit of some Slate Digital tools btw. Which isn't a bad thing of course. :winker:

    Hi Pauliewog,
Thank you for the new GUI's they look great.
As sucklord19k already mentioned part of what makes an SSL plugin look and feel like the real thing is the knobs.
The new GUI looks cool but I would keep the old knobs IMHO.
    Best wishes.

    Daisy:wink:

I actually love this, like real love it, i suggest that you make two versions, one with the old knobs (original ones) and one with the updated knobs (the ones in the pictures), also i do encourage you to work on the other ones you mentioned maybe even more?

i'll be waiting non-stop for this!

    Big thumbs up from me!

Great job Paul! I like it just the way you did it as a new skin. I'd release them just as they are!

So is it the shape of the knobs or because of the line in it and not a circle dot?

It's more about the shape and color. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/trbuscomp/ There's a great example of the knobs we're talking about. I also failed to mention that I really like your style on the buttons on the bus compressor ;)

The analog and fade off texts need more spacing or make the font size smaller.

    Much better!

On the SSL EQ, I think the Values are easier to read on the original skin, because the white stripe on the dial is just longer and the top of the dial has a plain non-reflective cap. I still prefer that. Good looking skins for sure, but besides the new blue SSL Comp skin I wouldn't use them, honestly. They are just too flashy. And they have a weird perspective angle to them - expecially the EQ

stick with gray knobs and flat, not 3d, use the orange glow and flat text, you almost had it the first time, except the 3d knobs

Come to think of it, as the original knobs were blue, the following might be the best route, work on a 3 version release for the compressor:

    - One all Orange, knobs and vu.
    - One all Blue again Knobs and vu.
    - This one is Blue knobs and an orange VU.

And for the for the eq, adapt the knobs models that you shared last on the compressor, with the same color code as the original wave release, Blue, Green, Purple and white for the overall gain knob, But again use orange for the Vu.

You might adapt the 3 release style with this, as following:

    - One all Orange Knobs and vu.
    - One all Blue Knobs and Vu.
    - One with the Original color code.

That being said, i beg you to make a skin for every Wave Plugin that could be changed/adapted with your skins/themes, that would be greatly appreciated.
