Ok now some might understand why I bitch at winblows.

    https://www.zdnet.com/article/windo...d-drives-broken-amd-issues-trend-micro-clash/

MS does it again with 1809 patch. Yes I know most of you don't use windows on a network but real IT guys know MS is not prime time ready.
This is like the old days when every patch broke something. You would think that if you charge money for something you would get better support.

    try this:
Run Command Prompt as administrator (Press the Enter key after each command):
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Then try to run windows update again

I would wait until next year when MS fixes all of this. There are issues with AMD stuff and mapped drives see the article I posted.

A "minor" update to the 1809 release is now out. It's about 900 MB and I did not have to reinstall any plugin or stuff like that. I have not tested the update for very long so I can not guarantee anything but all seems fine

    "minor":rofl:
They adressed an issue with mapped drives failing to reconnect after starting and logging onto a Windows device. How in the world does this sum up to 900MB?

This weekend I finally dared to update my good ol' dirty 1607 LTSB on my music PC to 1809 LTSC (17763.107).

There is one known audio related issue in that version but luckily I'm not affected:
Devices with Intel Audio Display Drivers may lose sound from a monitor or TV after updating to Windows 10, version 1809 :woot:

After testing everything for a few days, I've not experienced a single bug and will stay with it now for at least a year or maybe even longer.

There are still some newly discovered bugs we hadn't talked about before btw. so if you're interested. :winker:

Are you actually talking about 1809?
By the way the Windows update with added plugins support is not been released yet. Maybe they release update KB4487181 pretty soon
    Read more about it here:

Sorry Daskeladden just logged on and saw your question. Yes sir the 1809 update, its been heavenly so far like Maizelman said its been bugless that I can see so far. I've been crash free for almost 24hrs so far and even running 192khz sessions without any hiccups :mates:

It's shit like this that makes me prefer macOS for music production :D

For example, I have a legit win10 install and my Legit Maschine installation terminates instantly, because I won't allow it acces to the internet. WTF N.I.?! It's just ridiculous!

Let's talk about shitty OS's and updates:

What does it say in Event Viewer? Look at critical and errors. Also can you post a detailed .nfo file on PM?

    1. Go to the Desktop.
    2. Press [WinLogoKey] + R to bring up 'Run'.
    3. Type 'msinfo32' without quotes.
    4. Press the [Enter] key.
    5. IMPORTANT: Click File then "Save...", save this file as a .nfo file format and rename the file to crash
    6. Upload the file here

Hi guys, good morning, I see that you complain about W10, why do not you try Windows Server ?, it only updates when you say and it does not give so many problems, for now I've been with it for years and it has not given me any problem, it's a SO solid and stable. Test it in virtual machine and decide

Sucks that N.I Maschine is behaving that way I don’t own any N.I hardware but the hardware I have are running smoothly. Maybe a driver issue on your end or an update? I’ve had systems flop over updates before especially the IRQL errors I used to get from memory access issues but that recent 1809 update fixed all that.

Thanks for the help. I will have a shot at it. BTW, the dude from the video is an utter fool. He does so many lame plugin reviews I can't take this guy serious. You can actually read the error message on the cover pic of the video, where it says that he needs to do a firmware upgrade first :D

So what? He did upgrade the firmware on the video, then turned out Apple shoved the middle finger to everyone using Mac Pros with 3rd party graphics cards by quietly removing all the drivers.

What you are saying is WRONG! 1st. This is not a driver issue. 2nd. There are no "silently" removed drivers.

Mojave uses a new hardware acceleration mode for the GUI called METAL. And that's not supported by older GPUs. Look at the Video at 12:52: it even says so in the error message.

You can however, deactivate Metal via Terminal and then the GPU just works fine. Iam currently running a Hackintosh with a 3rd Party Graphics card – an ancient GTX 560 TI. And that also does not support Metal. It can run Mojave with deactivated Metal but it just doesn't feel right and has glitches.
