A couples of days ago I created a thread https://audiosex.pro/threads/which-one-was-the-first-computer-you-owned.43118/page-4#post-381233. I noticed that some members still use a lot of "vintage" gear and discontinued software to make music. So I decided to create this thread for the curious ones as well as those unfamiliar with vintage gear and software.
My oldest item is the Oberheim DMX, which I don't use simply because I don't like it. Never did. The oldest equipment that I actually do use is the Emulator II. I love its 24 dB/oct analog 4-pole low pass filter. I don't even use an external editor for it. Still using the 5" floppy disks. I have owned it, since 1992. Bought it for $600.



For those wondering, on the left of the Emu is the DMX. Under the Emu is a Technics 1200 mk2 with a first edition Rane MP24. The reel to reel is a Tascam 38.

refx Junox2, Nipro53, Fm7 etc. I have found that every old plugin works fine on windows 10.

 

Bought a Access VirusTI MK1 when it was first released back in 2005. I sold it when I moved overseas but bought a used MK1 a year later because its basically the one synth I cant live without and so many of my projects are tied to it.

Had to downsize a bit so really cut down the kit. Most of it now in attic, garage, or various cupbaords but oldest kit still in regular use in the studio would be the Cheetah MS-6

 

A Levin (model 123) acoustic guitar from 1964 which I write most of my songs on.
I also have a mandolin from 1946, but I rarely use it.

Still using - a (not wornout) pioneer ct-430s cassettedeck, 2 yamaha rev500, 2 lexicon mpx 550 (a tascam DA-20mkII with some old tapes from the legendary Evosonic Radio i have to convert someday - then out with it)

 

@kims I too have a Tascam DA-20 MkII in the garage...

 

For hardware, I still use my old Microtech Gefell m900 mic, with Focusrite Voicemaster Platinum mic pre-channel strip.
A couple pair of NS10m with the same Haftler power amp.

Got a bunch of sound modules and outboard that I will use occasionally when I'm out of option, Roland JV1010, Sound Canvas M50, Alesis DM6 and BSS DPR multiband comp.

Still kicking with this old KORG Triton LE.

For software, I still rocking with True Piano VST that always comes along with Sonar Cakewalk.
