So far I've only tried X-UniExtract and InnoExtract. InnoExtract seems to be the better of the two. But even that only works half the time.

There are many occasions when I want something that's packed in an installer, such as a single driver or image without having to install all the other contents. Anyone know of a more thorough tool or method that will achieve better results than the ones I tried?

There's also a mod of Uniextract (Uniextract-mod)

If installer is packed, try first DIE (detect-it easy) it give you which packer has been used.
And it finds any Ansi or Unicode in the file
(a really useful and easy tool)

 

I found that 7-Zip is more powerful in this matter than WinRar.
But I doubt that more than the programs you both have mentioned.

 

I looked up the UniExtract mod, and found there's a version that came after the mod (UniExtract 2) which is supposed to be more powerful. I'm going to test it and see if I can better results. Thanks for the suggestion.
